What is an AI agent and what is it used for in a company?

Frequently asked questions about AI agents: what companies ask before they start

Is Meteor a chatbot?

No. A chatbot follows a rigid script; a Meteor Met understands what the customer writes, decides what to answer and moves the sale forward: it quotes, books, recommends and closes inside the conversation. And it also does work outside the chat, against your ERP, your marketplaces and your carrier.

Does Meteor have a free trial?

Yes: every new Meteor account starts with a 7-day trial and US$5 of Energy, no card required. When the trial ends, the account stays inactive until you choose a plan. There is no permanent free plan: plans start at US$99 a month. There is a US$0 Developer plan for API, SDK and MCP server access, and it is not for sale: it is granted when you are approved as a Tech Partner or a Startup Partner. And if you would rather see it first, you can ask for a live demo at no cost.

How much does Meteor cost?

Meteor plans run from US$99 a month (Estudio) to US$500 a month (Edificio), depending on the size of your team and your contact volume. For large companies, Ciudadela and Campus are quoted to fit. Pay annually and two months are free. AI usage is billed separately as Energy, and every plan includes an Energy allowance in every period you pay for, from US$10 to US$450 depending on the plan.

Are WhatsApp messages charged separately from the plan?

What Meta charges, yes. Since October 1, 2026, Meta also charges for WhatsApp service messages, the replies to people who write to you, with 1,000 free per month for each number. That charge is Meta’s and is separate from your Meteor plan, just like the templates you send. Receiving messages costs nothing, and Meteor doesn’t add a markup to what Meta charges.

Does it work with the WhatsApp Business API and Instagram?

Yes. Meteor serves customers on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and web chat and centralizes every conversation in one CRM. Your Gmail or Outlook email also connects to the same platform, so your team can read and answer it there. WhatsApp is the most used channel, but it is neither the only one nor the product.

Do I need the WhatsApp Business API already set up to use Meteor?

You do not need to have it sorted out beforehand. The Meteor team walks you through connecting your WhatsApp line during onboarding, along with the rest of your channels. If you serve customers from the WhatsApp Business app on your phone today, you can keep using it: with coexistence, the same number is connected to Meteor and your contacts and up to six months of conversations are imported. It depends on Meta enabling your number, and files older than 14 days in the history are not imported.

Are Mets only good for conversations?

No. A conversational Met handles your customers across channels, and an operational Met does work that never passes through a chat: it syncs price and stock with Mercado Libre, Éxito, HomeCenter or Rappi, reads inventory and receivables from your ERP, quotes a shipment with the carrier, issues a payment link or publishes to your social accounts. It is the same platform.

Does it integrate with my store and my tools?

Yes. Meteor has 301 native integrations, counting the four messaging channels: stores (Shopify, WooCommerce), marketplaces (Mercado Libre, Éxito, HomeCenter, Rappi), ERP (SIESA, Odoo, Microsoft Dynamics 365), accounting (Alegra, Siigo), shipping (Aveonline, TCC, Andreani, Chilexpress, Skydropx), payments (Mercado Pago, plus Wompi for PSE and Nequi in Colombia), websites (WordPress, Webflow) and calendars. For whatever is not on the list there is a REST API, an SDK and an MCP server.

How much work can a Met actually get done?

Across the whole Meteor platform, more than 180,000 tasks run every month. A task is a complete piece of work: answering a customer, syncing a product with a marketplace, quoting a shipment, issuing a payment link or logging the conversation in the CRM. Mets work with no shift pattern, so the volume does not depend on anyone being on the clock.

Which countries does Meteor work in?

Meteor’s main market is Colombia, and it also operates in Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Curaçao, United States, Chile and Nicaragua. The channels and the CRM work in any country; what changes by market are the local integrations, such as Alegra or Siigo for electronic invoicing in Colombia (a Met that answers on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger or your website chat quotes but cannot create the invoice: your team does that from the Meteor web platform, with approval; in Alegra it stays as a draft and you issue it from Alegra, and in Siigo it is only sent to the DIAN if you ask when approving it), or Mercado Pago and Mercado Libre in Mexico and Argentina. Plans are billed in US dollars.

How long does implementation take?

Weeks, not months. The Meteor team walks you through eight steps: discovery, channel setup, flow design, AI training, integrations, testing, launch and 30 days of tuning. It is paid once, separately from the plan.

Do I need a technical team to use Meteor?

No. The Meteor team configures the flows and trains the Mets on your catalog and your brand voice. You focus on selling. And if you do have a technical team, you can build on the REST API, the SDK and the MCP server.

What happens to my customers’ data?

The data stays yours. The data controller is Rocketfy, Inc., the company behind Meteor, declared with its name, address and privacy contact in the site’s privacy policy. You can request deletion of your data at any time from the data deletion page or by writing to a@meteor.com.co.

How do I control what a Meteor Met does?

Meteor leaves you in control at five points. Each Met only uses the skills and tools you turn on for it. In the integrations you connect with one click, the actions that charge, delete or send in bulk come switched off, and you turn them on one by one. What matters waits for a person to approve it in Meteor or on WhatsApp: invoices and accounting entries, refunds and payment cancellations, creating subscriptions, creating or activating Meta and Google campaigns and changing their budget, publishing on your social media and on your Meteor or Webflow site, generating video in Estudio with Clip, bulk WhatsApp template sends and deleting contacts, records, Mets and campaigns. Every reply shows how much Energy it used, and without an Energy balance the Mets stop instead of running up a debt. And each Met’s Activity tab records what it did.

Can I connect my own AI agent to Meteor?

Yes.
