Bitly and Meteor AI agents
Connect Bitly to a Met: create short links and QR codes, change where they lead and check clicks by country, device and source with the official MCP.
How does Bitly connect to Meteor?
With the Bitly ready connector, your Met uses Bitly's official MCP server on the account the admin authorizes. It creates a short link, for example to your WhatsApp or your catalog, and its QR code, and hands you the QR image. It also changes the destination of a link already printed, lists a group's links and checks their clicks by country, city, device and referring site. It is Bitly's official server: usage runs on your Bitly account and plan, and deleting links starts switched off until the admin turns it on.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Bitly
Create a promotion's link and QR
Someone on the team asks the Met for a short link to your WhatsApp or your catalog for a campaign; the Met creates it, creates its QR code and hands over the image for the poster.
Change the destination without reprinting
If the QR is already printed and the promotion changed, the Met changes the link's destination. The same QR now leads to the new page.
Count how many clicks it got
The Met checks a link's total clicks and breaks them down by country, city, device and source, to know whether the poster or the post worked.
Find an old link
The Met lists a group's links and QR codes, or expands a short link to see where it leads, when someone on the team does not remember which one they used.

The limits
What the Bitly integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not delete links until the admin turns that on: that action starts switched off.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before creating or changing a link. The admin chooses in Connections which actions stay on.
-
It does not use a custom domain that is not set up in your Bitly account: links go out with the domains your account already has.
-
It does not post the link or the QR on your social media: it creates and hands them over; posting them is another step.
Before you start
What you need to connect Bitly
- 1
A Bitly account
You need a Bitly account with the group where you want to create links. The connector works with that account's groups and domains.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Bitly → Connect. A Bitly window opens so you can sign in and authorize Met. Then you choose which actions stay on.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Bitly and Meteor
Yes, if the QR points to a Bitly link: the Met changes the link's destination and the same QR leads to the new address.
Yes. It creates a short link to your number's chat address, with the message you want, and its QR code.
Only if the admin turns that action on, because it starts switched off. A deleted link stops working wherever it is posted.
You do, with your own Bitly plan. Meteor does not resell Bitly: the connector uses your company's account.
