Close and Meteor AI agents
Connect Close to a WhatsApp Met: search leads, create contacts and opportunities, and leave notes and tasks for your team with the official MCP.
How does Close connect to Meteor?
With the Close ready connector, your WhatsApp Met uses Close's official MCP server on the account the admin authorizes. It searches for a lead, opens it with its contacts, opportunities, activities and tasks, and checks the pipelines and their statuses. If you pick a write scope when authorizing, it also creates leads, contacts, opportunities, notes and tasks, and leaves an email draft that never sends on its own. When you connect, Close asks for the scope: read only, safe write, or write including deletes; that scope decides which actions exist.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Close
Log the prospect who writes on WhatsApp
The Met searches for the lead with a keyword, such as the company name, and, if it does not exist, creates the lead with its contact. That way the sales rep finds the person who wrote in Close, with their details.
Open the opportunity with its value
When the prospect asks for a quote, the Met checks the pipelines and their statuses and creates the opportunity in the right status, with the value that was discussed.
Leave context and the next step for the sales rep
The Met leaves a note summarizing the conversation and creates a task so the sales rep calls or writes back, on the date that was agreed.
Prepare the follow-up email without sending it
If the customer asks for the proposal by email, the Met finds the template and leaves a draft on the lead. The sales rep reviews it and sends it from Close.

The limits
What the Close integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
With the read or safe write scope it does not edit existing leads, contacts or opportunities: Close only offers the edit actions in the write scope that includes deletes.
-
It does not send emails or messages from Close: the email draft stays saved on the lead and a person sends it.
-
It deletes nothing with the read or safe write scope. Delete actions only exist with the destructive scope, Close says they are permanent, and they start switched off.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before creating a lead, a note or a task. The admin chooses in Connections which actions stay on.
-
It sees no more than the permissions of the account that authorized the connection in Close.
Before you start
What you need to connect Close
- 1
A Close account
You need a Close user in the organization where your sales team works. The connector uses that user's permissions.
- 2
Connect it in Met and pick the scope
In Met, open Connections → Close → Connect. A Close window opens so you can sign in, pick the scope (read, safe write, or write including deletes) and authorize Met. Then you choose which actions stay on.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Close and Meteor
Safe write, if you want the Met to create leads, opportunities, notes and tasks without being able to edit or delete anything. According to Close, that scope includes no delete actions.
Only if you pick the write scope that includes deletes when connecting: Close puts the edit actions there. With read or safe write there is no action to change the stage.
No. It leaves a draft on the lead and Close stores it without sending; someone on the team reviews and sends it.
You do, with your own Close plan. Meteor does not resell Close: the connector uses your company's account.
