Log the WhatsApp lead in Close with its opportunity and its next task

An AI agent creates in Close the lead who writes on WhatsApp, with its contact, the opportunity, a note and the sales rep's task.

How do I make every prospect who writes on WhatsApp land in Close with an opportunity without the sales rep copying it?

A Met connected to Close first checks whether the prospect already exists as a lead. If not, it creates the lead and its contact with the name, phone number and email from the conversation. When the person asks for a quote, it checks the pipelines and their statuses and creates the opportunity in the right status, with the value that was discussed. Finally it leaves a note summarizing the request and a task so the sales rep follows up on the agreed date. If the lead already existed, it does not duplicate it: it works on that lead.

What starts it

When the customer writes

It starts when a prospect writes on WhatsApp asking about your products or services. There is no trigger to configure: the Met assigned to the sales line runs the procedure inside that conversation.

Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.

Who runs it

Met that receives and qualifies prospects

Sales team

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is the Met that answers the sales line, with Close connected. Its work ends when the prospect is in Close exactly once, with its opportunity, the note of what they asked for and the sales rep's task created.

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

Check whether the prospect is already a lead

The Met searches Close with a keyword, such as the company name the person gave. If it finds the lead, it continues with it and does not create another.

  2. 2

Create the lead and its contact

If it does not exist, the Met creates the lead and, inside it, the contact with the name, phone number and email the person gave. That way the sales rep finds whoever wrote in Close.

  3. 3

Read the pipelines and their statuses

Before opening the opportunity, the Met checks the pipelines and their statuses so it uses one that really exists in your organization and does not invent a stage.

  4. 4

Create the opportunity with its value

If the person asked for a quote, the Met creates the opportunity in the status your team set for that moment, with the value that was discussed. Close stores that value in cents.

  5. 5

Leave the note and the sales rep's task

The Met leaves a note summarizing the conversation and creates a task for the sales rep with the follow-up date. The sales rep opens Close and already knows what the prospect asked for and when to contact them.

FAQ

Questions about this automation

The Met finds them in the search and works on that lead: it adds the opportunity, the note and the task instead of creating a repeated lead.

To the person on the team you name in the Met's skill. The task stays on the lead with the date agreed in the conversation.

Not with safe write: Close only offers opportunity editing in the scope that includes deletes, and this recipe does not use it. The sales rep makes that change.
