Google Business Profile and Meteor AI agents
Connect Google Business Profile to Meteor: reviews, replies you approve first, opening hours and business details per location. Google approval required first.
How does Google Business Profile connect to Meteor?
Meteor connects to Google Business Profile so your Met can read the reviews of every location, draft the reply and publish it only after you approve that text, and keep the opening hours, phone number, website and description that show up in Search and Maps up to date. That is 7 tools. One condition is worth knowing before you buy it: Google does not enable these APIs on a self serve basis. Access is granted through an application, once per app, and until that approval exists the connector says it cannot read the profile instead of answering with invented data. You also need to connect, over OAuth, the Google account that owns or manages the business profile.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Google Business Profile
Answer the reviews nobody replied to
Your Met pulls only the unanswered reviews, one and two star ones first, drafts each reply and shows it to you exactly as it would be published. It goes live when you approve that text, not before.
Change the hours for a holiday or a special day
You say what changes, your Met builds the full week from the hours already published and shows it to you day by day before replacing it. That way one sentence does not leave the business closed for the rest of the week.
Fix the phone number or website across every location
Your Met goes through the locations of the account, tells you which ones still carry the old detail and updates the ones you confirm. A wrong phone number on Maps is a lost call every single time.
Review reputation location by location before a meeting
Average rating, total reviews, how many are unanswered and what the latest ones say, for each profile separately. In a clinic, a school or a hotel with several sites, the average of one says nothing about the other.
7 tools
Everything your Met can ask Google Business Profile for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
gbp_listar_cuentas | Lists the Google Business Profile accounts the connected user manages. It is the starting point: every other tool needs the account name it returns. |
gbp_listar_sedes | Lists the locations of an account with their name, address, phone, category, opening hours and Maps link. Every location is a separate profile, with its own reviews. |
gbp_obtener_sede | Returns the full detail of one location: contact details, description, regular hours, special hours and whether the profile shows as open or closed. |
gbp_listar_resenas | Lists the reviews of a location with the author, the star rating, the comment and whether they already have a reply, and can return only the ones still unanswered. |
gbp_responder_resena | Publishes the business reply to a review, visible to anyone in Search and Maps. It requires an explicit confirmation on every call. |
gbp_actualizar_horario | Replaces the regular opening hours of a location. The whole week is sent, so any day left out of the list is published as closed. |
gbp_actualizar_datos | Updates the phone number, the website or the description of a location, only on the fields you send. |
The limits
What the Google Business Profile integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It cannot be switched on from your account. Access to these APIs is granted by Google through an application, once and per app, so enabling it does not depend on a credential you can paste: it depends on that process.
-
It does not reply to a review on its own. Publishing requires an explicit confirmation on every call, because the text is signed with your brand and visible to anyone.
-
It does not open a thread with the customer. A review takes a single business reply: publishing over one that already had a reply replaces it, and no history is kept.
-
It does not delete, hide or report a review, not even a fake one. That is requested from the Google dashboard, done by a person and decided by Google.
-
It does not publish posts, photos or offers on the profile, and it does not answer the questions in the questions and answers section.
-
It does not create a new profile or verify a business, and it does not bring statistics on views, calls or searches.
Before you start
What you need to connect Google Business Profile
- 1
Google approval for access to the Business Profile APIs
You do not apply for it yourself: Google approves it through an application, once and per app, with prerequisites such as a business justification, a Google Cloud project and a company website. While it is pending, every tool answers saying the profile cannot be read yet.
- 2
A Google account that owns or manages the profile
It is connected over OAuth from Integrations, and it has to be the same account that manages the business on Google Business Profile. Connect an account that does not manage that profile and Google answers that it has no permission over it.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Google Business Profile and Meteor
Not yet. Access to the Google Business Profile APIs is not self serve: Google approves it through an application, once for the whole app. Until that approval exists, every tool answers saying what is missing instead of returning reviews. It is written here rather than in the small print precisely so nobody buys it expecting otherwise.
No. The tool that publishes requires an explicit confirmation on every call, so your Met drafts, shows you the full text and waits for your approval. A reply on Google is signed with your business name and read by anyone deciding whether to come.
It is not added, it is replaced. Google allows a single business reply per review, and publishing again erases the previous one with no history left. That is why your Met shows you the reply already published first and warns you the new one takes its place.
Yes, and it treats them separately, which is how they actually work: every location is a separate profile, with its own reviews, its own hours and its own average rating. The locations of the account are listed first, then you work on the one you pick.
No. Removing a review is not something the API allows: it is reported from the Google dashboard, handled by a person and decided by Google. What you can do from here is reply to it, which is what the next customers actually read.
