How does Klaviyo connect to Meteor?

With Klaviyo connected, your WhatsApp Met records the person it is talking to in your account without duplicating them, and adds them to a list when they agree. It can look up a product in the Klaviyo catalog and, if the size or color they want is sold out, sign them up for the back in stock alert so Klaviyo writes to them when it returns. It also checks your coupons and how your campaigns performed. Klaviyo sends the emails and texts with your own account; Met does not send them over WhatsApp.

Your Met asks for the email or phone and creates the profile, or updates the one that already had that detail. If the person agrees to receive news, it adds them to the list you chose for that channel.

Alert shoppers when a sold out size returns

When someone asks about a variant with no stock, your Met finds it in the Klaviyo catalog and signs that profile up for the back in stock alert. Klaviyo writes to them through the channel you configured when the variant is back.

Check coupons before promising a discount

Before mentioning a promotion, your Met checks the account's coupons and their codes, so it does not offer one that ran out or does not exist.

Answer how a campaign performed

From the internal chat, your team asks the Met about the latest campaign and it brings the Klaviyo report with opens, clicks and attributed revenue.

The limits

What the Klaviyo integration does NOT do

We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.

It does not send emails or texts from Met. Klaviyo sends the messages with your account, your sender and your flows; the Met only prepares the profile, list or subscription.
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before writing. The workspace admin chooses which actions stay on; the ones that delete or cancel, such as deleting a code or canceling a campaign send, start switched off.
Adding someone to a list is not their marketing consent. The Met should not add anyone to a list who did not agree to receive your messages.
It does not validate a coupon code in your store. Klaviyo stores the code, but to be redeemed it also has to exist on the platform where you take payments.
Your company pays for Klaviyo usage under its own plan, based on the profiles and sends it contracted. Met does not charge Energy for these calls.

Before you start

What you need to connect Klaviyo

A Klaviyo account with the Owner, Admin or Manager role

Klaviyo only lets users with one of those three roles authorize its MCP server. Whoever connects must hold one of them in the account the workspace will use.

Connect it in Met

In Met, go to Connections, search for Klaviyo and tap Connect. The Klaviyo window opens, you sign in with your account and approve access. There is no key to copy.

A synced catalog for back in stock alerts

The back in stock alert uses the catalog Klaviyo pulls from your store and the back in stock flow you set up in Klaviyo. Without a catalog and a flow, there is no variant to subscribe and no message goes out.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Klaviyo and Meteor

No. The Met leaves the subscription in Klaviyo and Klaviyo sends the alert, with your account's back in stock flow and through the channels you set up there, such as email or SMS.

It avoids it. The create or update action first looks the profile up by email or phone and, if it exists, updates it instead of creating another one.

Your company, under its own Klaviyo plan. Met adds no charge for these calls; what Klaviyo counts, such as profiles and sends, stays on your Klaviyo bill.

Yes. The workspace admin turns each action of the connector on or off. The ones that delete or cancel start switched off and are only turned on if the admin decides to.
