Semrush and Meteor AI agents
Connect Semrush to a Met: check rankings, keywords, backlinks and competitors for your site with the official MCP and your API units.
How does Semrush connect to Meteor?
With the Semrush ready connector, your Met queries Semrush data with the account the admin authorizes. It reviews a domain overview, its organic keywords, its competitors, its backlinks, its paid search and the projects you already have in Semrush, such as Position Tracking and Site Audit. The server works by reports: first it finds the report, then it asks for its parameters and finally it runs it. Every query spends API units from your Semrush plan, the same as calling the API directly, and projects are read only.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Semrush
Answer how your site is doing on Google
You ask the Met on WhatsApp how the site is doing. It finds the domain overview report, runs it and replies with the estimated organic traffic and the main keywords.
See what competitors are doing
The Met finds the organic competitors of your domain and, for the one you choose, their keywords and paid search, so you see where they beat you.
Review your projects without opening Semrush
If you already have Position Tracking or Site Audit set up, the Met reads those reports and tells you which positions changed or which errors the audit found.
Research a keyword before writing
Before a page or an article, the Met checks the keyword volume and difficulty and suggests the variants that appear in the report.

The limits
What the Semrush integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not create or change projects in Semrush. The MCP reads the read only methods of the Projects API: it does not start an audit or edit the keywords you track.
-
It does not return traffic and market data without Trends API. Audience and traffic reports need a Trends API subscription, Basic or Premium.
-
It does not query for free. Every report spends API units from your plan, depending on the report type and the number of rows, and a broad question can need several reports.
-
It does not replace Google Search Console. Semrush data are estimates from its own database, not the clicks Google recorded for your site.
-
It does not pay your Semrush plan. Usage runs on your account and your API units; Meteor does not resell the service.
Before you start
What you need to connect Semrush
- 1
A Semrush plan with MCP access
Semrush One Starter, Semrush One Pro+, SEO Classic Pro or SEO Classic Guru include the MCP with API units. SEO Classic Business and Semrush One Advanced also need an API units package.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Semrush → Connect. A Semrush window opens so you sign in and authorize Met.
- 3
Trends API for traffic and market data
Only if you want traffic and audience reports: any Trends API plan, Basic or Premium, already includes MCP access.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Semrush and Meteor
It depends on the report and how many rows it asks for. Semrush charges the MCP with the same unit system as its API; you see the balance in your Semrush profile, under subscription info.
No. The MCP only reads projects: it can tell you how positions are doing, but project changes are made in Semrush.
Because that is how the Semrush server is built: the tools for each area find the report, get_report_schema returns its parameters and execute_report runs it.
You do, with your Semrush plan and API units. Met does not charge for the queries your Met makes to Semrush.
