Ahrefs and Meteor AI agents
Connect Ahrefs to a Met: check keywords, backlinks, competitors and rankings for your site with the official MCP and your Ahrefs plan.
How does Ahrefs connect to Meteor?
With the Ahrefs ready connector, your Met queries Ahrefs with the account the admin authorizes. In Keywords Explorer it checks volume, related terms and search suggestions; in Site Explorer it reads Domain Rating, backlinks, organic keywords, top pages and competitors of a domain; and in your projects it reads Rank Tracker and Site Audit. It also brings brand mentions from Brand Radar. You need a paid Ahrefs plan from Lite up, and every query spends API units from your account.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Ahrefs
Review a keyword before writing
The Met checks the keyword volume and difficulty, its related terms and who holds the top results today, so you decide whether the page is worth it.
Measure your site against a competitor
With Site Explorer, the Met compares the Domain Rating, estimated organic traffic and top pages of your domain and of the competitor you name.
Find broken links pointing to you
The Met lists the backlinks that reach broken pages on your site, so your team redirects those addresses and does not lose the link.
Read your projects on WhatsApp
If you already have Rank Tracker or Site Audit set up, the Met summarizes your keyword positions or the issues the audit found.

Everything your Met can ask Ahrefs for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.

The limits
What the Ahrefs integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not work on the free plan. The Ahrefs MCP server is available on paid plans starting from Lite.
-
It does not query without spending units. Every call consumes monthly API units, the same as the direct API, and each plan caps the rows per query.
-
It does not fix your site. Site Audit says which issues exist; fixing them is work on your website, not in Ahrefs.
-
It does not create Rank Tracker or Site Audit projects in this listing: the tools listed read projects that already exist in your account.
-
It does not pay your Ahrefs plan. Usage runs on your account and API units; Meteor does not resell the service.
Before you start
What you need to connect Ahrefs
- 1
A paid Ahrefs plan
Lite or higher. Each plan includes monthly API units; Enterprise customers can buy extra units.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Ahrefs → Connect. An Ahrefs window opens so you sign in and authorize Met.
- 3
Check the key cap
The key created when you authorize with OAuth has a monthly unit cap. The Ahrefs workspace admin changes or removes it in the API keys report.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Ahrefs and Meteor
In Ahrefs, under Account settings, Limits and usage. The Met can also check it with the subscription limits and usage tool.
Yes. Site Explorer accepts any domain or URL, so the Met checks a competitor's metrics, backlinks and top pages the same way as yours.
It is the part of Ahrefs that measures where a brand shows up, including AI assistant answers. The Met reads those reports if your plan includes them.
You do, with your Ahrefs plan and API units. Met does not charge for the queries your Met makes to Ahrefs.
