Cloudflare and Meteor AI agents
Connect Cloudflare to a Met: search the docs and your account's API, and with the admin's permission change DNS or check traffic.
How does Cloudflare connect to Meteor?
With the Cloudflare ready connector, your Met uses Cloudflare's official API MCP server with the account and permissions the admin picks when connecting. It gives your Met 4 tools: search the Cloudflare documentation, search the API catalog for the endpoint that does something, tell which account is connected and run calls against the API. That last one starts switched off, because it reaches your account's whole API: DNS, Workers, R2 and every other product. If the admin turns it on, the Met can, for example, check or change a DNS record for your store's domain or query traffic analytics, always within the permissions you granted in Cloudflare.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Cloudflare
Answer how to set something up in Cloudflare
When the agency or the owner asks on WhatsApp how to do something in Cloudflare, such as pointing a subdomain, the Met searches the official documentation and answers with it.
Find which part of the API applies
Before touching anything, the Met searches the API catalog for the endpoint that matches the request, to learn what it needs and what it returns. This works with execution switched off.
Check or change a DNS record
If the admin turns execution on, the Met reads the DNS records of a domain in the account and, with the permissions you granted when connecting, creates or changes the one you asked for.
Check a site's traffic
With execution on, the Met queries Cloudflare analytics for a zone and sums up on WhatsApp what it returns, so you do not have to open the dashboard.
4 tools
Everything your Met can ask Cloudflare for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
docs | Searches the Cloudflare developer documentation. |
search | Writes code that goes through the Cloudflare API catalog to find the right endpoint. |
execute | Writes code that calls the Cloudflare API with the endpoints found. Starts switched off. |
whoami | Returns which Cloudflare user or account is connected, with no input needed. |
The limits
What the Cloudflare integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does nothing in your account while execution is off: it only searches the documentation and the API catalog and tells which account is connected.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before running an API call. Execution starts switched off; if the admin turns it on in Connections, the Met uses it with the permissions it has.
-
It does not go beyond the permissions you chose in Cloudflare when connecting. If you did not grant DNS write access, the Met cannot change a record even with execution on.
-
It is not one tool per product: the Met writes code against the API, so a vague task can take several attempts. Ask for concrete things, with the domain and the change.
-
It does not pay your Cloudflare plan. Usage runs on your account, and whatever Cloudflare charges for a product it charges the same if the Met turns it on.
Before you start
What you need to connect Cloudflare
- 1
A Cloudflare account with your domains
The Cloudflare account that holds the domains or products you want the Met to check, with a person who can grant permissions on them.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Cloudflare → Connect. A Cloudflare window opens so you can sign in and choose which permissions you give the Met. Then the admin decides whether to turn execution on.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Cloudflare and Meteor
Because the official server does not ship one tool per endpoint: the Met searches the API catalog and writes the call. That way it reaches the whole Cloudflare API with few tools.
Yes, if the admin turns on execution, which starts switched off, and if you granted DNS write access when connecting. Without both, the Met only tells you how to do it.
No. Browser Run is a different Cloudflare server, for reading pages and taking screenshots. This page covers your account's API server: domains, DNS and every other product.
You do, with your Cloudflare account and plan. Meteor does not resell Cloudflare: the connector uses your company's account.
