Softix and Meteor AI agents
Connect the Softix clinical calendar to Meteor: open times, new appointments, cancellations and patients, handled over WhatsApp.
How does Softix connect to Meteor?
Meteor connects to Softix, the clinical calendar used by optical practices, and gives your Met 8 tools to book with no human in the middle: work out the genuinely open times by crossing the booked calendar with the opening hours and the optometrists at each location, create the appointment, cancel it, move it and register the patient when they are new. You need your Softix account user and the per location schedule configuration.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Softix
Answer the availability question with real times
Your Met does not read a fixed list. It crosses the appointments already booked with the opening hours of that location and its optometrists, and answers the slots that are genuinely open, in both 12 and 24 hour format.
Book without going through the front desk
It looks the patient up by document number, registers them when they are new, confirms date, time, location and exam type, and creates the appointment, keeping its identifier so it can be moved later.
Cancel and rebook on the same channel
The patient writes to say they cannot make it, and your Met cancels or moves the appointment after checking that the new time is free.
Split by location and by practitioner
Availability is computed per location and per optometrist, so the appointment lands with the right practitioner instead of on a generic calendar.
8 tools
Everything your Met can ask Softix for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
softix_get_availability | Works out the open times for a date and location by crossing the booked calendar with the base schedule. |
softix_get_appointments | Lists the appointments already booked for a date, which is where the busy calendar comes from. |
softix_create_appointment | Creates the appointment with date, time, location and exam type, and returns its identifier. |
softix_cancel_appointment | Cancels an existing appointment by its identifier, after confirming with the patient. |
softix_reschedule_appointment | Moves an appointment to another date, time, location or optometrist. |
softix_get_customer | Finds a patient by their document number, to see whether they exist before booking. |
softix_create_customer | Registers a new patient with document number, first name, last name and mobile. |
softix_get_user | Looks up an optometrist by identifier and returns their role. |
The limits
What the Softix integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It cannot compute availability without the per location schedule configuration. Softix exposes the booked calendar, not the opening hours. Undeclared, the open slots tool does not run.
-
It does not reach clinical records or exam results.
-
It does not charge or invoice the visit. The invoicing integration covers that.
-
It does not list the optometrists at the practice. The API only allows looking them up one at a time by identifier.
Before you start
What you need to connect Softix
- 1
Your Softix account username and password
The same ones you use to sign in to the platform. The token is obtained and refreshed on each use, so there is nothing extra to configure.
- 2
Schedule and optometrist configuration per location
Declared once, with the slot length, the locations, their practitioners and the opening hours per day. It is what makes computing open slots possible instead of only listing what is booked.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Softix and Meteor
From crossing two things: the booked calendar Softix returns and the opening hours you declare per location and per optometrist. Softix does not expose opening hours, so without that configuration there is no availability to compute.
Yes, but it searches by document number first. Registering a patient who already exists splits their history, so the lookup always comes before the creation.
Yes. Availability, creation and rescheduling all take the location, and the schedule configuration is declared per location with its own practitioners.
No. This integration covers scheduling and patients: times, appointments and contact details. Clinical records stay out of it.
