Miro and Meteor AI agents
Connect Miro to a WhatsApp Met: search boards, read what is on them, reply to comments and build new boards with the official MCP server.
How does Miro connect to Meteor?
With the Miro ready connector, your WhatsApp Met reads and writes on your company's Miro boards using the account the admin authorizes. It gives the Met 20 tools: it searches boards, finds what is on one and reads it in full, lists and replies to comments, pulls images and creates boards, items, tables and prototypes. That way it can tell a customer how their project is going with what your team left on the board. It is Miro's official server and it works on all Miro plans, even the free one, with a daily call cap set by the plan. No action starts switched off: the admin decides in Connections which ones stay on.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Miro
Tell the customer how their project is going
When a customer asks on WhatsApp how their project is going, the Met finds their board, checks what is on it and reads the notes, cards or tables where your team tracks progress, and answers with that.
Bring what the customer says to the board
The Met reads the board's open comments and, when the customer answers a team question on WhatsApp, it replies in that same thread so the team sees it in Miro.
Set up a board for a new customer
If the admin leaves it on, the Met creates a board for the customer and adds the starting structure, such as frames, notes or a diagram, based on Miro's specification.
Share an image from the board
If the board has a render, a photo or a sketch, the Met asks for that image's download link and shares it in the conversation.
20 tools
Everything your Met can ask Miro for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
board_search_boards | Searches and lists the boards the connected account can access. |
board_create | Creates a new Miro board. |
canvas_search | Finds what is on a board before reading it, with an overview mode. |
canvas_read_as_svg | Reads existing board items and returns them as SVG, each one with an identifier that does not change. |
canvas_get_canvas_composer_skill | Returns the SVG specification for building content on a board; it is requested before writing. |
canvas_load_format_skill | Adds guidance for a specific format, such as diagram notation, on top of the base specification. |
canvas_create_from_svg | Creates several items on a board from an SVG document. |
canvas_update_from_svg | Applies an SVG as a diff on the board: it creates, updates and also deletes items. |
comment_list_comments | Lists the comments on a board or on a board item. |
comment_reply | Replies in a comment thread that already exists on a board. |
comment_resolve | Marks a comment thread as resolved or reopens it. |
image_get_data | Returns the metadata and data of an image that is on a board. |
image_get_url | Returns a download link for an image that is on a board. |
image_get_upload_url | Returns a temporary, single-use URL to upload an image. |
image_create | Places an image as an item on a board. |
table_create | Creates a table on a board with the given columns. Miro marks it as deprecating soon. |
table_list_rows | Reads the rows of a table with its columns, with an optional filter. Miro marks it as deprecating soon. |
table_sync_rows | Adds or updates rows in a table based on a key column. Miro marks it as deprecating soon. |
prototype_read | Reads the screens of a prototype on a board, with their metadata. |
prototype_create | Creates a Miro prototype from one or more HTML screens. |
The limits
What the Miro integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before writing to Miro. No action starts switched off: the admin chooses in Connections which ones stay on.
-
Updating items from an SVG can also delete them, because it applies the SVG as a diff. If you do not want the Met to touch existing boards, the admin turns that action off.
-
It does not open a new comment thread: it only lists, replies to or resolves threads that already exist on the board.
-
It sees no more than the account that authorized the connection. It follows each board's permissions, so boards that account cannot open stay out of reach.
-
It has a daily call cap set by the Miro plan: 100 on Free, 500 on Starter, 2,000 on Business and 10,000 on Enterprise. The counter resets at 00:00 UTC.
-
The three table actions still work, but Miro marks them as deprecating soon; new tables are better built with the canvas tools.
Before you start
What you need to connect Miro
- 1
A Miro account with access to the boards the Met will use
Any Miro plan works, even the free one. Connect with an account that can see your customers' boards, because the connector works with that account's permissions.
- 2
MCP server enabled if you have Miro Enterprise
On the Enterprise plan the MCP server comes disabled. The Miro admin enables it for the organization before anyone can connect.
- 3
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Miro → Connect. A Miro window opens so you can sign in and authorize Met. Then you choose which actions stay on.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Miro and Meteor
It depends on your Miro plan: 100 calls a day on Free, 500 on Starter, 2,000 on Business and 10,000 on Enterprise. The counter resets at 00:00 UTC.
No. Miro's documentation marks none of these tools as using AI credits; what counts is your plan's daily call cap.
Yes, if the action to update from an SVG is on, because it can create, change and delete items. It does not start switched off: if you do not need it, the admin turns it off in Connections.
You do, with your own Miro plan. Meteor does not resell Miro: the connector uses your company's account and follows the limits Miro sets for that plan.
