Facebook and Instagram and Meteor AI agents
Connect Facebook and Instagram to Meteor: publish posts, photos, carousels, stories and reels, with several brands on the same account.
How does Facebook and Instagram connect to Meteor?
Meteor connects to the Meta API and gives your Met 7 tools to publish organic content: posts on a Facebook Page with text, a link or a photo, and on Instagram a single image, a carousel of up to ten pieces, a story or a reel. One authorization brings in every Page on the account with its linked Instagram profiles, so an agency can run several brands from the same workspace.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Facebook and Instagram
From the idea to the post without picking up your phone
You ask your Met for the post, review it in the chat and it goes out to the right Page or profile. With several brands connected, it picks the one you name.
A content calendar that actually runs
Instagram has no native scheduling. Meteor schedules the trigger from its automations and publishes at the agreed time, which is what makes a calendar possible with no third-party tool.
Publish in batches without blowing the quota
Before a batch, your Met checks how many posts are left in the twenty-four hour window instead of discovering the limit halfway through.
The same content, shaped per format
One campaign can go out as a Facebook post, an Instagram carousel, a story and a reel, each through its own tool and with what that format requires.
7 tools
Everything your Met can ask Facebook and Instagram for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
meta_list_accounts | Lists the Pages and Instagram profiles connected, so you know where to publish. |
meta_publish_facebook_post | Publishes to a Facebook Page with text, with a link or with a photo and caption. |
meta_publish_instagram_image | Publishes an image to the Instagram feed and handles the upload process internally. |
meta_publish_instagram_carousel | Publishes a carousel of two to ten pieces, mixing images and video. |
meta_publish_instagram_story | Publishes a story with an image or video. It disappears after twenty-four hours. |
meta_publish_instagram_reel | Publishes a reel and waits for Meta to finish processing the video before it goes live. |
meta_get_publishing_limit | Checks how many posts are left in the Instagram twenty-four hour window. |
The limits
What the Facebook and Instagram integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not reply to comments or direct messages. It publishes organic content. Instagram and Messenger conversations are handled through the Meteor channels.
-
It does not buy or manage paid media, and it does not send conversion events. This is organic publishing and nothing else.
-
It does not accept binary files. Instagram downloads the media from a public URL, so the image or video has to be published at the moment you post.
-
It does not measure reach or engagement. It returns the post identifier, not its metrics.
Before you start
What you need to connect Facebook and Instagram
- 1
Authorization with Facebook
Done once from the Meteor panel. That single authorization returns every Page on the account along with its linked Instagram profiles.
- 2
A Facebook Page with a professional Instagram profile linked
This is a Meta requirement. Publishing to Instagram through the API needs the profile to be professional and linked to a Page.
- 3
Media on public URLs
Meteor hosts and exposes them publicly when you publish. Instagram downloads them by URL and does not accept a file sent directly.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Facebook and Instagram and Meteor
Instagram has no native scheduling, so the trigger is scheduled from Meteor automations and the post goes out at the agreed time. The effect is the same, but the schedule lives in Meteor.
Yes. One authorization brings in every Page on the account with its Instagram profiles, and there is a tool to list them and pick where to publish.
No. This integration publishes organic content. Instagram and Messenger conversations are handled from the Meteor channels, which are a different thing.
Instagram enforces a rolling twenty-four hour quota, and a carousel counts as a single post. There is a tool to check what is left before publishing a batch.
