Restream and Meteor AI agents
Connect Restream to a WhatsApp Met: schedule live streams to several networks, pick destinations and check audience and chat with the official MCP.
How does Restream connect to Meteor?
With the Restream ready connector, your Met manages your live streams through Restream's official MCP server, authorized once with your account. It checks your connected channels and whether they have access problems, creates a live or scheduled event, adds or removes destinations across more than 30 platforms, reschedules it and, where the platform allows it, creates the scheduled broadcast there so your audience sees it in advance. After the live it pulls viewers and chat messages per channel. Removing a destination only disconnects it inside Restream. Deleting events and clearing their time start switched off.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Restream
Schedule a sales live
You ask the Met on WhatsApp for a live on Thursday at 6 in the evening on your channels. It creates the scheduled event, connects the destinations and, where possible, creates the scheduled broadcast on each platform.
Reuse your usual destinations
If you do not name channels, the Met checks your last finished event and offers to use the same destinations, handy if you always stream to the same networks.
Restream a recording
The Met finds a recording or a stored video in Restream and creates an event from that file, for example to repeat a workshop.
Report how the live went
After the stream, the Met pulls viewers and chat messages per channel and tells you which network brought the most audience.

Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.

The limits
What the Restream integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not handle stream keys or passwords. For security, Restream does not allow entering RTMP credentials or return stream keys through its MCP: that is done on app.restream.io.
-
It does not delete anything on your networks. Disconnecting a destination only removes it inside Restream; the platform does not change.
-
It does not ask you for confirmation in the chat before creating or changing an event. The admin chooses in Connections which actions stay on; deleting events and clearing their time start switched off.
-
It does not give every feature on every plan. Free accounts connect channels and create events, but some destinations and features depend on the Restream plan.
-
It does not pay your Restream plan. Usage runs on your account; Meteor does not resell the service.
Before you start
What you need to connect Restream
- 1
A Restream account with connected channels
Your Restream account with the networks you stream to already connected as channels. Free accounts can connect channels and create events.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Restream → Connect. A Restream window opens so you can sign in to the right workspace and authorize access.
- 3
Decide which actions stay on
The workspace admin reviews the list of actions. Deleting events and clearing their scheduled time start switched off.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Restream and Meteor
It creates and schedules the event with its destinations, but you run the stream from the studio or your streaming software, connected to Restream.
Some platforms require fields such as a title before the channel can be connected. The Met asks you for them and retries, or checks the channel's access.
Yes. After the stream the Met pulls viewers and chat messages with totals per channel.
You do, with your Restream plan. Meteor does not resell Restream: the connector uses your business's account and follows your plan's limits.
