Canva and Meteor AI agents
Connect Canva to a WhatsApp Met: search designs, fill brand templates, export pieces and comment on designs through Canva's official MCP server.
How does Canva connect to Meteor?
With the Canva ready connector, your Met works on the Canva account the admin authorizes. It searches your designs and folders, opens their pages and content, generates a new design, fills a brand template with a customer's details, resizes a piece and exports it in the format you need so the link can be shared on WhatsApp. It also comments and replies to comments. It is Canva's official server: you need a Canva integration from your company, usage runs on your Canva plan, and brand templates, autofill and resizing need a Pro plan or higher.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Canva
Make a customer's piece with your brand template
On Pro or higher, your Met finds the brand template, reads its fields and fills it with the name, product or price the customer asks for, without leaving your design.
Export and share the file
The Met checks which formats the design can be exported to, exports it to PNG or PDF and shares the download link in the WhatsApp conversation.
Resize for another network
If the piece is for WhatsApp status or another network, the Met creates a version of the design in the matching size, on Pro or higher.
Fix a line of text before delivering
The Met opens an editing session, changes the wrong text, saves and checks the thumbnail, so the team does not have to open Canva for a small change.
46 tools
Everything your Met can ask Canva for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.

The limits
What the Canva integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before creating or changing a design. The admin chooses in Connections which actions stay on.
-
It does not use brand templates, autofill or resizing on the free plan: those tools need Canva Pro, Business or Enterprise.
-
It does not export at Pro quality on the free plan, and if the design has premium elements your account does not have, the export fails for licensing reasons.
-
It does not connect without a Canva integration from your company: Canva's dynamic registration is deprecated, so Met asks for your integration's client ID.
-
It does not go over 300 requests per minute per user across all clients, and some tools have a lower cap, such as 10 generated images per minute.
-
Discarding an editing session starts switched off because of its name: if you need it, the admin turns it on. Usage runs on your Canva account and plan.
Before you start
What you need to connect Canva
- 1
A Canva account
Any plan works to search, create, edit, comment and export. For brand templates, autofill and resizing you need Canva Pro or higher.
- 2
A Canva integration from your company
You create an integration in the Canva developer portal, add the return URL Met shows you and copy its client ID, and the secret if it gives you one.
- 3
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Canva → Connect, paste the client ID and authorize with your Canva account. Then you choose which actions stay on.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Canva and Meteor
It exports the design and shares the download link Canva returns in the conversation. The file lives in your Canva account, not in Meteor.
Not to search, create, edit and export. Yes to fill brand templates, see brand kits or resize a design: those tools are for Canva Pro or higher.
When it fills a brand template, yes, because the design comes from that template. A design generated from scratch does not inherit your brand kit on its own.
Because Canva retired automatic client registration. The integration is yours and defines what permissions the connector has on your account.
