Create a Canva design from WhatsApp, from the request to the finished file

Describe on WhatsApp the post or flyer you need: an AI agent generates proposals in Canva, shows you how they look and hands you the file.

How do I make a Canva design from WhatsApp without opening Canva?

You text your Met on WhatsApp "I need a square post for Friday's two for one deal". The Met asks Canva for design proposals based on that description, turns the best fit into an editable design and shows you the thumbnail so you say whether it works. If you also need it for stories, it creates a version in another size, which needs Canva Pro. Finally it checks which formats the design can be exported to, exports it as PNG or PDF and shares the download link. The design stays in your Canva account, where you can touch it up. The Met does not ask for confirmation in the chat before creating or exporting: that depends on the actions the admin left on.

What starts it

When someone asks for it

It starts when someone on the team describes on WhatsApp the piece they need: a post, a flyer, a story. Each design is on request.

A manual task: someone on the team runs it with a button, or asks the Met for it in chat.

Who runs it

Internal Met that builds pieces for you in Canva

Studio team

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is an internal Met with Canva connected, for the owner or whoever runs the business's social media: it is done when you have the exported file's link and the design saved in your Canva account.

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

    Generate proposals from the description

The Met asks Canva for design proposals based on what you wrote: the format, the offer and the text it must include. Canva allows up to 20 of these requests per minute.

  2. 2

Turn the chosen one into an editable design

The Met turns the proposal that best fits your request into an editable design. From then on the design exists in your Canva account and someone on the team can touch it up by hand.

  3. 3

    Show you how it looks

The Met pulls the design's thumbnail and shows it to you on WhatsApp. If you do not like it, you ask for another proposal before exporting, instead of finding the problem in the final file.

  4. 4

Make another size if you need it

If the piece also goes in stories or another format, the Met creates a version of the design in that size. This tool needs Canva Pro or higher; Free has a limited trial.

  5. 5

Export and hand you the file

The Met checks which formats the design can be exported to, exports it as PNG for social media or PDF for print and shares the download link in the chat.
