Docusign and Meteor AI agents
Connect Docusign to a Meteor AI agent: send a contract from a template, track who still has to sign and send reminders.
How does Docusign connect to Meteor?
With Docusign connected, your WhatsApp Met prepares an envelope from a template in your account, with the name and email the customer gave in the conversation, and Docusign emails them the contract to sign. The Met can then tell them where the envelope stands, who still has to sign and send a reminder to those whose signature is pending. It uses Docusign's official server; your company needs its own Docusign app and its signing plan.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Docusign
Send a contract from a template
When the customer agrees, your Met asks for their name and email, picks the template your company named and creates the envelope. Docusign emails them the contract to sign.
Answer where the signature stands
If the customer asks about their contract, your Met checks the envelope and its recipients and tells them whether they signed, whether someone is missing or whether it expired.
Remind whoever has not signed
When an envelope has been pending for days, your Met sends the Docusign reminder to the recipients who still have to sign.
Start an agreement workflow
If your company uses Maestro workflows, your Met checks which details the workflow needs and starts it with what was discussed in the conversation.

The limits
What the Docusign integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not have the customer sign inside WhatsApp. Docusign emails the envelope and signing happens in Docusign; signers embedded in an app do not get reminders.
-
It does not upload a file sent in the chat. The envelope comes from a template in your account or from a document at a public web address, up to 25 MB per file.
-
It writes nothing with the initial setup. Docusign marks all its writes as sensitive actions, so creating, sending, reminding and voiding start switched off, and the workspace admin decides which to turn on. Met does not ask for confirmation in the chat.
-
It does not change your account settings or user permissions, nor run bulk downloads: Docusign leaves those actions out of its MCP server.
-
Your company pays for Docusign usage under its plan and envelopes. Maestro workflows and Agreement Manager require a Docusign IAM subscription; Met does not charge Energy for these calls.
Before you start
What you need to connect Docusign
- 1
A Docusign account with an eSignature plan
The account your company already sends envelopes with works. Maestro workflows and Agreement Manager agreements also need a Docusign IAM subscription.
- 2
Your own app in Docusign
In the Docusign developer dashboard, under Apps and Keys, you create an app, add the return address Met shows you and copy its Integration Key.
- 3
Connect it in Met and turn on the writes
In Met, go to Connections, search for Docusign, paste the Integration Key as the client ID and tap Connect. Then turn on the actions you want to allow, such as creating the envelope or sending reminders.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Docusign and Meteor
Because Docusign marks creating and sending envelopes as sensitive actions, and in Met those actions start switched off. The workspace admin turns them on in the connector when they decide to.
No. The Met creates the envelope and Docusign emails it to the signer. The Met can then tell them on WhatsApp where it stands and who still has to sign.
Only the one your company names. Docusign tells the Met not to pick or substitute a template on its own: the template is named before the envelope is created.
Not with these tools. If a draft needs another document, a new envelope is created that includes it from the start.
