Send a contract for signature with Docusign from WhatsApp

An AI agent sends through Docusign the contract the customer accepted on WhatsApp, from your template, and tells them who still has to sign.

How do I send a contract for signature as soon as the customer says yes on WhatsApp?

When the customer accepts the proposal on WhatsApp, a Met connected to Docusign asks for the signer's full name and email, takes the contract template your company named and creates the envelope. Docusign emails them the contract to sign. If the customer asks later, the Met checks the envelope and its recipients and tells them whether they signed or who is missing, and it can send the Docusign reminder to those whose signature is pending. Signing happens in Docusign, not in the chat.

What starts it

When the customer writes

It starts when the customer accepts the proposal on WhatsApp and says they want to sign, or when they write back to ask about their contract. There is no trigger to configure: the Met assigned to the line runs the procedure inside that conversation.

Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.

Who runs it

Sales Met that closes contracts

Sales team

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is the Met that already carries the sales conversation on WhatsApp, with Docusign connected. Its work ends when the envelope went out to the right person and the customer knows where their signature stands.

5 steps · 6 tools

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

    Find the right Docusign account

The Met identifies the connected Docusign user and the account contracts are sent from. If the user has several accounts, it uses the one your company named in the instructions, because each account has its own templates.

  2. 2

Take the template your company named

The Met looks up the contract template by name in the account. Docusign tells it not to pick or substitute a template on its own, so if it cannot find the named one, it stops and alerts your team instead of using a similar one.

  3. 3

Create the envelope for the signer

With the template and the details the customer confirmed, full name and email, the Met creates the envelope and sends it. Docusign emails the contract to that address. The Met keeps the envelope ID for later checks.

  4. 4

    Tell where the signature stands

When the customer asks, the Met checks the envelope and each recipient's status. It tells them whether they signed, whether another signer is missing or whether the envelope expired, with what Docusign reports and not with a guess.

  5. 5

Remind whoever has a pending signature

If the envelope has gone unsigned for days, the Met sends the Docusign reminder to the pending recipients. Signers embedded in an app do not get reminders, and the Met says so when that is the case.

Questions about this automation

Because creating the envelope starts switched off in Met: Docusign marks it as a sensitive action. The workspace admin turns it on in the connector when they decide to.

Yes, from the email Docusign sends, which opens on a phone. The signing link does not go out on WhatsApp: Docusign sends it.

Yes, if the template has those roles. The Met asks for each person's name and email and fills the template roles when creating the envelope.

Your company, under its Docusign plan. Each envelope counts according to your plan; Met does not charge Energy for these calls.
