BambooHR and Meteor AI agents

Connect BambooHR to a Meteor AI agent: look up employees, vacation balances, who is out, reports and goals.

How does BambooHR connect to Meteor?

With the BambooHR ready connector, your Met reads your company's HR information with the permissions of whoever connected it: the directory and each employee's data, vacation balances, who is out on given dates, saved reports and each person's goals. If your team decides so, it also submits time off requests, updates goals and comments on applications. It is BambooHR's official server, in beta; the admin creates an app in BambooHR and delete actions start switched off.

What it automates

What a Meteor Met does with BambooHR

Answer how many vacation days are left

When someone on the team asks for their balance, your Met checks in BambooHR that person's available time off by category and as of the date they need.

Tell who is out

Before a meeting or a deadline, your Met checks who is out and which holidays fall on those dates, so the team plans with what BambooHR says.

Submit a time off request

If your team allows it, your Met submits the request in BambooHR with the dates and the type of time off, and approval follows the flow you already have.

Bring a saved report

When the manager asks for a roster figure, your Met runs the saved report your team named and sums up its rows in the chat.

56 tools

Everything your Met can ask BambooHR for

Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.

The limits

What the BambooHR integration does NOT do

We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.

Before you start

What you need to connect BambooHR

  1. 1

An active BambooHR account and its subdomain

Your company's account works. The subdomain is what comes before .bamboohr.com in the address you use to sign in to BambooHR.

  2. 2

Your own OAuth app in BambooHR

In the BambooHR developer portal, the admin creates an app, registers the return URL Met shows, gives it the mcp scope and the data scopes it needs, and copies its client ID.

  3. 3

    Connect BambooHR in Met

In Met, open Connections, then BambooHR, then Connect, type the subdomain and paste the client ID. A BambooHR window opens so you can sign in and authorize Met.

  4. 4

AI access turned on in BambooHR

BambooHR says an admin turns on the AI Connectors app under Settings, Apps, with the access level of whoever connects. Today it requires this for some connectors and says it will extend it to MCP.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about BambooHR and Meteor

Because its MCP server does not support dynamic client registration. Your own app gives Met a client ID to sign in to your account with OAuth.

No. BambooHR publishes its MCP server and AI connectors in beta, and asks for feedback to improve them.

The Met reads with the permissions of the account that connected BambooHR. For another person's balance BambooHR requires permission to view their time off; set in the instructions what each person can ask for.

Your company, under its BambooHR plan. Meteor does not resell the service and Met does not charge Energy for these calls.
