Answer on WhatsApp how many vacation days each employee has left with BambooHR

An AI agent answers on WhatsApp each employee's vacation balance with BambooHR, checks who is out and submits the request.

How do I tell my team how many vacation days they have left without opening BambooHR every time?

A Met connected to BambooHR answers the employees who write to it on WhatsApp. It identifies the person in BambooHR, checks their time off balance by type and the policies assigned to them, and tells them how many days they have left. If they want to request vacation, the Met checks who else is out and which holidays fall on those dates, counts the days and submits the request in BambooHR, where it follows the approval flow you already have. Your team still approves.

What starts it

When the customer writes

It starts when an employee writes to the Met on WhatsApp to ask about their vacation or to request it. There is no trigger to configure: the Met assigned to that line answers the conversation, even though the person writing is an employee and not a customer.

Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.

Who runs it

Internal service Met for the team

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is a Met assigned to a WhatsApp line for your team, with BambooHR connected. The person writing to it is an employee, not a customer, and its work ends when the person knows their balance or their request is recorded in BambooHR.

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

    Identify the employee

The Met looks the person up in the BambooHR directory and employee list with the details your team set in its instructions, and does not go on if it cannot find them with certainty.

  2. 2

    Check their balance

The Met checks the employee's time off balance by category as of today or the date they ask about, and names it with your company's time off types.

  3. 3

    Check the policies that apply

If the person asks why they have that balance, the Met checks the time off policies assigned to them in BambooHR and tells them which one applies.

  4. 4

Check the dates they want to request

Before recording anything, the Met checks who else is out and which holidays fall on those dates, and counts the days in the range so the person knows how many they are requesting.

  5. 5

    Submit the request

With the dates and the type of time off confirmed in the conversation, the Met submits the request in BambooHR. Approval follows the flow you already have set up.

FAQ

Questions about this automation

It answers the balance with the categories and units BambooHR returns for your company; the Met does not recalculate your policies.

The Met checks who else is out on those dates and tells the person before submitting. Whether it is approved is still your team's call.

It is better to assign this Met to a line for your team, so employee data does not mix with customer service.

Your company, under its BambooHR plan. Meteor does not resell the service and Met does not charge Energy for these calls.
