Surfer SEO and Meteor AI agents
Connect Surfer SEO to a Met: create Content Editors, generate and score articles and track your visibility in AI engines with the official MCP.
How does Surfer SEO connect to Meteor?
With the Surfer SEO ready connector, your Met works with your Surfer account in the organization the admin authorizes. It creates and reads Content Editors, brings the SEO and AI Search guidelines, generates articles with Surfer AI, reads and replaces content, scores it and applies Auto-Optimize. It also reads the AI Tracker, with your brand's mention rate in AI engines and where they mention your competitors and not you, and the recommendations of pages to optimize and topics to write. What it creates or generates counts against your Surfer plan; reading does not.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Surfer SEO
Write an article draft
You ask the Met on WhatsApp for a blog article draft. The Met creates the Content Editor with the keyword, checks the SEO guidelines, generates the article with Surfer AI and sends you the score and the link to review it in Surfer.
Improve a page that already exists
The Met lists Surfer's recommendations, opens a Content Editor for the page you choose and tells you which terms the content is missing against the guidelines.
Know whether AI engines mention you
The Met reads the AI Tracker and replies with your brand's mention rate, its daily trend and the topics where your competitors are mentioned and you are not.
Find the sources that get cited
The Met lists the sources the answers cite, by domain or URL, and flags which ones mention your brand, so you know which sites are worth showing up on.

The limits
What the Surfer SEO integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not publish on your site. The draft stays in Surfer; publishing it on your page is a separate step this connector does not take.
-
It does not create or generate for free. Creating a Content Editor, opening a recommendation, generating an article or running Auto-Optimize count against your plan; reading data does not. No tool reports the credits left: you see them in Surfer under Settings → Usage.
-
It does not delete a Content Editor, but it can replace the whole document. The tools that delete templates and voices start turned off, because that deletion is permanent.
-
It does not change your AI Tracker projects. Its tools only read; projects and prompts are managed in the Surfer app.
-
It does not clean the text Surfer brings from the web. Imported pages and competitor content can carry hidden instructions, and Surfer warns that nothing removes them: that is why the admin should keep on in Connections only the write actions it really needs.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before writing: the admin decides which actions stay on in Connections.
Before you start

A Surfer plan with MCP
The MCP is included in the Pro, Peace of Mind, Enterprise and AI Search Analytics plans, and also in the Surfer trial.
- 2
Connect it in Met

Frequently asked questions
Questions about Surfer SEO and Meteor
Creating the Content Editor spends one Content Editor credit. On Enterprise and some older plans, generating the article also spends one AI Article credit; on the other plans it is included in the Content Editor. No tool reports the balance: you see it in Surfer under Settings → Usage.
It cannot delete a Content Editor, but it can replace the whole document with the content tool. Deleting templates and voices is permanent, which is why those two tools start turned off.
Yes. Surfer limits requests per organization and per tool, and everyone connected to the organization shares each limit. Your plan's limit also applies.
You do, with your Surfer plan. Met does not charge for what your Met creates or queries in Surfer, and Meteor does not resell the service.
