Ask on WhatsApp for a blog article draft with Surfer SEO
Ask on WhatsApp for an article draft: an AI agent builds it in Surfer SEO with the search guidelines and sends you the score.
How do I get a blog article draft that follows what Google asks for?
You write to your Met on WhatsApp something like "write me the draft of the article 'how to choose a mattress' for the blog". The Met creates a Content Editor in Surfer with that keyword, brings the SEO guidelines with the terms, topics and competitors, generates the article with Surfer AI and brings it when it is ready. Then it checks the content score and sends you the link to review it in Surfer. The draft stays in Surfer: the Met does not publish it on your site, and creating the Content Editor spends one credit from your plan.
What starts it
When someone asks for it
It starts when someone on the team asks the Met for an article draft with its topic or keyword. Each request creates its own Content Editor and spends its own credit; this procedure does not leave a scheduled queue.
A manual task: someone on the team runs it with a button, or asks the Met for it in chat.
Who runs it
Content Met that builds drafts in Surfer SEO
Social team
This is not a named, seeded Met. It is a Met that serves the team, not customers, with Surfer SEO connected: its work ends when it sends you the score and the draft link, or when it tells you which step could not be done and why.

6 steps · 6 tools
The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Create the Content Editor
If the admin leaves this action on, the Met creates a Content Editor in Surfer with the keyword, the location and, if you give them, the secondary keywords. It spends one Content Editor credit.
- 2
Bring the SEO guidelines
The Met brings the Content Editor's SEO guidelines, with the terms, topics, structure and SERP competitors, to know what the article has to cover.
- 3
Generate the article with Surfer AI
The Met asks Surfer AI to generate the article. This action counts against your Surfer plan, and the admin decides in Connections whether to leave it on.
- 4
Bring the article when it is ready
Generation takes a while. The Met checks the article until it is ready, without generating it again, so it does not spend the plan allowance twice.
- 5
Check the content score
The Met checks the article's SEO score, AI Search score and total score, and tells you how it did against the guidelines before you review it.
- 6
Send the link to review it
The Met brings the link to open the document in Surfer and sends it to you on WhatsApp with the score, so someone on the team reviews and publishes it.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
A Surfer plan with MCP
The MCP is included in Surfer's Pro, Peace of Mind, Enterprise and AI Search Analytics plans, and also in the trial. Creating and generating count against that plan's limits.
-
Surfer SEO connected in Met
In Met, open Connections → Surfer SEO → Connect, sign in with your Surfer account, pick the organization and authorize Met.
-
An internal Met your team writes to
A Met with Surfer SEO enabled and a WhatsApp line your team uses to write to it. It is not a customer conversation: it is an internal request.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not publish on your site. The draft stays in Surfer; uploading it to your blog is done by someone on the team or another automation.
-
It is not free. Creating the Content Editor spends one credit and generating the article counts against your plan; no tool reports how many credits you have left.
-
It does not guarantee a position on Google. The score measures how well the article follows Surfer's guidelines, not where it will show up.
-
It does not replace the team's review. The article is a draft: someone has to read it and check its facts before publishing it.
FAQ
Questions about this automation
Creating the Content Editor spends one Content Editor credit. On Enterprise and some older plans, generating the article also spends one AI Article credit; on the other plans it is included in the Content Editor. You see the remaining credits in Surfer under Settings → Usage.
Because some Surfer actions keep running after the Met stops waiting for the response. The Met checks the result instead of asking for it again.
The Content Editor accepts a custom voice and a template. If you already have them saved in Surfer, tell the Met which one to use.
This connector includes Auto-Optimize, which uses your plan's allowance. It is not part of this procedure: you ask for it separately, first checking whether a run is already in progress.
