Google Search and Meteor AI agents

Your Meteor Met queries Google Search: web results, news, images and local businesses on Maps. No accounts and no keys to set up.

How does Google Search connect to Meteor?

Meteor gives your Met access to Google Search across four surfaces: web results with the knowledge panel and related questions, news with headline, source and date, images with their origin, and local Maps results with address, phone, rating and opening hours. The service key belongs to the platform, so there is nothing to configure per workspace.

What it automates

What a Meteor Met does with Google Search

Verify before you assert

When a customer asks something your Met is not sure about, web search lets it answer with a source instead of making something up.

Research an account before the meeting

Your Met searches the company across web results and news, and assembles the context your rep did not have time to prepare.

Find the business, not the business website

Local search returns address, phone, rating and hours, which is what you need to confirm that a supplier or a store exists and is open.

Pull visual references

To build a post or a proposal, image search returns results with their source, so you can cite it or ask for permission.

4 tools

Everything your Met can ask Google Search for

Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.

Tool What it does
search_web Web search with organic results, knowledge panel, featured answer and related questions.
search_news News search with headline, source, date and summary.
search_images Image search with the image URL, its thumbnail and the source page.
search_local Local Maps search with address, phone, rating and opening hours of nearby businesses.

The limits

What the Google Search integration does NOT do

We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.

Before you start

What you need to connect Google Search

  1. 1

    Nothing on your side

The search service key belongs to the platform and lives on the Meteor server. The tool is available with no per workspace setup.
