Flexport and Meteor AI agents

Connect Flexport to a Met: track shipments, search ocean and air rates, HS codes and ports, and request pricing with Flexport's official MCP.

How does Flexport connect to Meteor?

With the Flexport ready connector, your Met uses Flexport's official MCP server with the user of whoever connects, authorized with OAuth, and sees only what that person sees in Flexport. It gives your Met 16 tools: it tracks a shipment with its milestones, estimated dates and customs status, filters the shipments that need attention, searches contract and spot rates for ocean FCL or LCL and air freight, requests pricing from your Flexport team when there is no rate, and finds HS codes, ports and saved addresses. First, an administrator at your company enables the connection in the Flexport client app. Booking against a rate does not start turned off: the admin decides whether it stays on.

What it automates

What a Meteor Met does with Flexport

Answer where the import is

With the shipment ID or name, your Met checks in Flexport its status, the latest milestone, the estimated arrival date, the vessel and whether it has any customs hold, and sums it up in the chat.

See which shipments need attention

The Met filters your active shipments and tells you which ones have customs holds, overdue tasks, exceptions or risk of demurrage and detention charges.

Quote ocean or air freight

With the product, the origin port and the destination port, the Met finds the HS code, looks up the ports, searches contract and spot rates and works out the total price of the option.

Request pricing when there is no rate

If the search returns no rate for the lane, the Met requests pricing from your Flexport team and then reviews the quote request and the charges of each option when they arrive.

Book against a rate

If the admin leaves rates_instant_book on, the Met books the freight against the rate it just pulled, with the price, routing and cargo validated first by Flexport.

The limits

What the Flexport integration does NOT do

We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.

Before you start

What you need to connect Flexport

  1. 1

    A company account in Flexport

The account your company moves cargo with through Flexport, with an active user for the person who will connect.

  2. 2

A Flexport administrator enables the connection

An administrator at your company enables it once from the Flexport client app. From then on, any active user can connect with their own user.

  3. 3

    Connect it in Met

In Met, open Connections → Flexport → Connect. You sign in with your Flexport user and authorize access. There is no key to paste into the chat.

  4. 4

    Decide which actions stay on

rates_instant_book books freight and does not start turned off: the admin decides whether it stays on. rates_book_without_rate starts turned off.
