Upwork and Meteor AI agents
Connect Upwork to a WhatsApp Met: search freelancers, post jobs and review proposals, contracts and messages with Upwork's official MCP.
How does Upwork connect to Meteor?
With the Upwork ready connector, your Met works on your Upwork client account through its official MCP server; when connecting, a window opens to authorize. It searches freelancers and reviews their profiles, checks reference rates, posts a job and reviews incoming proposals, invites freelancers, reads and sends messages, and lists your contracts, milestones and offers. Ending or changing contracts, handling milestones and offers, and changing the connector's own permissions start switched off. It suits the small business or agency that hires design, development or marketing per project. Paying freelancers runs on your Upwork account.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Upwork
Post the job you need
You tell the Met on WhatsApp you need a designer for your logo. It checks reference rates, posts the job on Upwork and lets you know once it is live.
Review incoming proposals
The Met lists your job's proposals and opens each freelancer's profile, to sum up in the chat who applied and what they offer.
Invite a freelancer you liked
If you found someone in the search, the Met invites them to your job and writes to them on Upwork to introduce the project.
Follow your contracts
The Met lists your contracts and their milestones to tell you which project is still open and which delivery comes next, without opening Upwork.
30 tools
Everything your Met can ask Upwork for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.

The limits
What the Upwork integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not end or change contracts with the initial setup. Those actions, along with handling milestones and offers, start switched off; the admin decides whether to turn them on.
-
It does not ask you for confirmation in the chat before writing. Posting a job, inviting or sending a message start switched on; the admin chooses in Connections which ones stay that way.
-
It does not pay freelancers. Payments and rates run on your Upwork account under Upwork's rules.
-
It does not change the connector's own permissions from the chat: the mode and permission tools start switched off.
-
It does not pay your Upwork account. Usage runs on your account; Meteor does not resell the service.
Before you start
What you need to connect Upwork
- 1
An Upwork client account
The Upwork account you hire freelancers with, as a client, with access to your jobs and contracts.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Upwork → Connect. An Upwork window opens so you can sign in and authorize access.
- 3
Decide which actions stay on
The workspace admin reviews the list of actions. Contracts, milestones, offers and the connector's permissions start switched off.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Upwork and Meteor
Making offers and handling contracts start switched off. With the initial setup the Met searches, posts, invites and talks; you close the hire on Upwork.
The server also has freelancer side tools, such as finding jobs and handling proposals. This page shows the ones for whoever hires.
Messages go out from your Upwork account. If you want that said, write it in the Met's skill so it mentions it.
You do, with your Upwork account: rates and payments to freelancers run through it. Meteor does not resell Upwork.
