Descript and Meteor AI agents
Connect Descript to a WhatsApp Met: import a video into your Drive, ask Underlord to edit it and follow the job with the official MCP server.
How does Descript connect to Meteor?
With the Descript ready-made connector, your Met uses Descript's official MCP server on the Drive you choose when authorizing with OAuth. From WhatsApp it can import into a project the video or audio someone sends as a link, ask the project's agent, Underlord, to edit it with plain instructions such as studio sound, removing filler words or adding captions, and follow the job's progress until it is done. Importing spends media minutes and editing may spend AI credits from your Descript plan. Cancelling a job starts switched off.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Descript
Polish a video that arrives on WhatsApp
Someone on the team sends the Met a video link. The Met imports it into Descript, asks Underlord for studio sound and to remove filler words, and says when the job is done.
Add captions with one instruction
With the video already in a project, the Met asks Underlord for captions and follows the job until it is ready to review in Descript.
Know where each job stands
If someone asks about a video sent for editing, the Met checks the recent jobs and answers which ones finished and which are still running.
5 tools
Everything your Met can ask Descript for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
import_media | Imports video or audio into a project in your Descript Drive. Spends media minutes. |
prompt_project_agent | Gives the project's agent, Underlord, plain editing instructions. May spend AI credits. |
get_job | Checks the status of an import or editing job. |
list_jobs | Lists recent jobs; Descript keeps the history for 30 days. |
cancel_job | Cancels a job that is in progress. Starts switched off. |
The limits
What the Descript integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before importing or editing. The admin decides in Connections which actions stay on; cancelling a job starts switched off.
-
It does not import YouTube links: you need a direct file link, or a Google Drive or Dropbox link that can be converted.
-
It does not download the finished video without publishing it: Descript only returns the final file links when it is published to a Descript web link, and that tool is not on this page.
-
It does not work on two Drives at once: the connection is tied to the Drive you chose, and switching Drives means connecting again.
Before you start
What you need to connect Descript
- 1
A Descript account with minutes and credits
The business's Descript account works. Importing uses media minutes and editing with Underlord may use AI credits from your plan.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Descript → Connect. Sign in to Descript with the Drive you want to use and authorize Met. Then you choose which actions stay on.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Descript and Meteor
It is Descript's editing agent. The Met gives it plain instructions about the project, such as removing filler words or adding captions, and Underlord applies them.
No: Descript does not accept YouTube links for import. Send a direct file link or a Google Drive or Dropbox link.
Descript keeps the job history for 30 days. After that, the Met can no longer check that job.
You do, with the media minutes and AI credits of your Descript plan. Meteor does not resell Descript: the connector uses your company's account.
