Clean up the audio and caption a video someone sends you on WhatsApp, in Descript
An AI agent imports the video you send on WhatsApp into Descript, asks Underlord for clean audio and captions and tells you when it is ready.
How do I get a video with good sound and captions without opening the editor every time?
A Met connected to Descript takes a link to one of the business's videos on WhatsApp, such as a testimonial or a tutorial, and imports it into a project in your Descript Drive. It asks Underlord, Descript's editing agent, for studio sound, removing filler words and adding captions, and follows the job until it finishes to tell you it is ready to review in Descript. If you sent the wrong video and the admin turned on cancelling, it stops the job in progress. Importing uses media minutes and editing may use AI credits from your plan.
What starts it
When someone asks for it
It starts when someone on the team sends the Met a video link on WhatsApp and asks for it to be polished. A customer message does not trigger it: each video is a request and spends Descript minutes.
A manual task: someone on the team runs it with a button, or asks the Met for it in chat.
Who runs it
Social video Met with Descript
Studio team
This is not a named, seeded Met. It is the catalog's social video Met, with Descript connected. Its work ends when the video is edited in your Descript Drive and ready to review; publishing or exporting it is left to your team.

The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Import the video into the Drive
The Met imports the video into a project in your Descript Drive with the link it was given. If it is a YouTube link, it says Descript does not accept it and asks for the file.
- 2
Wait for the import to finish
Importing and transcribing is not instant. The Met checks the job status until the video is ready in the project, instead of asking for the edit too early.
- 3
Ask Underlord for the edit
With the video in the project, the Met gives Underlord the instructions the skill sets: studio sound, removing filler words and adding captions.
- 4
Follow the progress
The Met checks the recent jobs to see whether the edit is done and tells whoever asked for it on WhatsApp that they can review it in Descript.
- 5
Cancel if it was the wrong video
If the person sent the wrong video, the Met cancels the running job. This action starts switched off: it only happens if the admin turned it on in Connections.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
Descript connected in Met
In Met, open Connections → Descript → Connect and sign in with the Drive where the projects will live. If you want the Met to cancel jobs, the admin turns that action on.
-
Minutes and credits on your Descript plan
Importing spends media minutes and editing with Underlord may spend AI credits. Check your plan before sending many videos in a row.
-
The editing instructions in the skill
Write in the Met's skill what it asks Underlord for on each video. That way every video gets the same treatment and nobody has to repeat it.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not hand you the final file on WhatsApp: Descript only gives the file link when it is published, and this procedure leaves the video in your Drive for review.
-
It does not check whether the edit came out right: Underlord does it and a person reviews it in Descript before using it.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before importing or editing: if the action is on, it spends the minutes and credits. The admin decides which actions stay on.
-
It does not import YouTube links: it needs a direct file link, or a Google Drive or Dropbox link.
FAQ
Questions about this automation
In the project in your Descript Drive. The Met tells you on WhatsApp when the job is done so you can open it.
Yes: if your message asks for something different, such as captions only, the Met passes it to Underlord that way instead of using the usual instructions.
Because its name contains the word "cancel" and Met switches those actions off by default. The admin turns it on in Connections if they want it at hand.
The media minutes the import uses and the AI credits the edit uses, according to your Descript plan.
