DataForSEO and Meteor AI agents
Connect DataForSEO to a Met: Google results, keywords, backlinks and reviews from the DataForSEO API with the official MCP.
How does DataForSEO connect to Meteor?
With the DataForSEO ready connector, your Met reads the DataForSEO API documentation and makes authenticated calls with the account the admin authorizes. It has 4 tools: three to find and read the documentation, and one that calls any API endpoint. That way it reaches the SERP API, with real time Google, Bing and Yahoo results by location and language, Keyword Data, On-Page, DataForSEO Labs, Backlinks, Business Data, Domain Analytics and AI Optimization. The one that calls the API starts turned off until the admin turns it on in Connections; without it, the Met only reads the documentation. DataForSEO charges per use: every API call is deducted from your DataForSEO account.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with DataForSEO
See who shows up on Google for a search
With the API call turned on by the admin, you ask the Met on WhatsApp who shows up on Google for a search in your city. The Met checks in the documentation how to call the SERP API, makes the call with the location and language and replies with the results.
Research a keyword before writing
If the admin turned on the API call, before a new page the Met checks the Keyword Data or DataForSEO Labs section of the documentation and calls the matching endpoint to bring the data for that keyword.
Review a domain's backlinks
If the admin turned on the API call, the Met finds the Backlinks section in the documentation and calls the API to see which sites link to your domain or a competitor's.
Read reviews and business listings
If the admin turned on the API call, with Business Data the Met checks the reviews and business listings DataForSEO returns, for example a competitor's in your area, and summarizes what it found.

Everything your Met can ask DataForSEO for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
docs_index | Returns the API documentation index, optionally filtered by section. It is cached for 24 hours. |
docs_list_sections | Returns the names of the sections available in the documentation. |
docs_search | Returns the documentation from a documentation URL, with code examples if requested. Cached for 24 hours. |
api_request | Makes an authenticated call to any DataForSEO API endpoint, with the request body passed as data. It starts turned off until the admin turns it on. |
The limits
What the DataForSEO integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not query for free. DataForSEO charges per use and every API call is deducted from your account; a broad question can need several calls.
-
It does not bring separate tools per report. The server has a single tool that calls any API endpoint, and the Met builds the call from the documentation.
-
It does not call the API out of the box. The tool that calls it starts turned off, because it reaches any endpoint and every call is charged; the admin decides in Connections whether to turn it on.
-
It does not save results in its own dashboard. It replies in the conversation with what the API returned; whatever you want to keep, you save yourself.
-
It does not pay your DataForSEO account. Usage runs on your DataForSEO account; Meteor does not resell the service.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about DataForSEO and Meteor
Because that is how version 3 of the DataForSEO server works: three tools read the documentation and one makes the API call. That last one starts turned off; when the admin turns it on, the Met reaches any endpoint.
The data from the APIs the server reaches: Google, Bing and Yahoo results, keywords, On-Page, DataForSEO Labs, backlinks, reviews and business listings, a domain's technologies and Whois, and AI Optimization.
No. This is the v3 server, the new one according to DataForSEO; the previous one, with one tool per report, was deprecated.
You do, with your DataForSEO account, which charges per use. Met does not charge for the calls your Met makes to DataForSEO.
