Omnisend and Meteor AI agents
Connect Omnisend to a WhatsApp Met: check campaign and automation performance, segments, contacts and your store's products.
How do I check how my Omnisend campaigns are doing from WhatsApp?
With the Omnisend ready connector, your Met queries your email and SMS account for online stores. The server does not bring one tool per action: the Met searches for the API operation it needs, reads which parameters it takes and runs it as a query. That way it answers how a campaign did in revenue, orders, opens and clicks, which automations are active, how big a segment is or what data a contact has. Out of the box it only reads: create, update and delete start switched off, and sending a campaign is an update. Usage runs on your Omnisend account.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with Omnisend
Tell you how a campaign did
When you ask on WhatsApp how Friday's send went, the Met runs the campaign analytics report and answers with revenue, orders, conversion rate, opens, clicks and unsubscribes.
Check which automations are running
The Met lists the account's automation workflows and opens the one you name, so you know which are active without going into Omnisend.
Know how many people a segment has
The Met lists your segments and pulls statistics for the one you care about, useful before deciding who gets a promotion.
Look up a contact before answering
If a customer writes on WhatsApp, the Met can look up their contact in Omnisend to see their data before replying.
7 tools
Everything your Met can ask Omnisend for
Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
omnisend_search | Lists Omnisend API operations with a short description and the tool that runs each one. |
omnisend_tool_schema | Returns an operation's parameters, required fields and usage notes. |
omnisend_reference | Returns Omnisend documentation on segments, events, analytics, campaigns, contacts or templates. |
omnisend_query | Runs read operations, such as campaign reports, contacts or segments; it never changes anything. |
omnisend_create | Runs operations that create records, such as campaigns, contacts or segments. Starts switched off. |
omnisend_update | Runs operations that modify records, including sending a campaign. Starts switched off. |
omnisend_delete | Runs operations that delete records from the account. Starts switched off. |
The limits
What the Omnisend integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not write out of the box: create, update and delete start switched off. Since sending a campaign is an update, the Met sends nothing unless the admin turns that action on.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before writing if the admin turns writes on: each one enables every operation of its kind, not just one.
-
It does not handle several brands in one connection: each connection is one Omnisend account, according to the documentation.
-
It does not go beyond the access level you choose on the Omnisend consent screen; if you choose read only, writes fail even when they are on in Met.
-
It does not work with any user: Omnisend requires the owner, admin, manager or partner role to connect.
Before you start
What you need to connect Omnisend
- 1
An Omnisend account with the right role
According to Omnisend, you need the owner, admin, manager or partner role in the account to connect the MCP.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → Omnisend → Connect. An Omnisend window opens so you can sign in, choose the access level and authorize Met. Then you choose which actions stay on.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Omnisend and Meteor
Because Omnisend exposes a few generic tools instead of one per action. The Met finds the operation, reads its parameters and runs it with the read tool.
Only if the admin turns updates on, because sending is an update and starts switched off. Turning it on enables every update, not just sending.
If you only want reports, choose read only on the Omnisend screen. That way, even if someone turns a write on in Met, Omnisend rejects it.
You do, with your own Omnisend plan. Meteor does not resell Omnisend: the connector uses your store's account.
