FreshBooks and Meteor AI agents
Connect FreshBooks to a Met: look up invoices, payments, clients, expenses and accounting reports with 20 official read-only tools.
How does FreshBooks connect to Meteor?
With the FreshBooks ready connector, your Met queries your business accounting in FreshBooks using the account the admin authorizes. It gets 20 tools, all read-only: it lists and opens clients, invoices, estimates, payments, expenses, a client's credits, recurring templates and items and services, and it pulls the balance sheet, general ledger, profit and loss, revenue by client and trial balance reports. It helps answer on WhatsApp how much a client owes or how the month is going, without logging into FreshBooks. It creates, edits or charges nothing.
What it automates
What a Meteor Met does with FreshBooks
Answer how much a client owes
A client asks on WhatsApp what they have pending. The Met finds them among your clients, checks their invoices, the recorded payments and the credits in their favor, and answers with what FreshBooks says.
Tell the owner how the month is going
The owner asks the Met how the business is doing. The Met pulls the profit and loss report and the revenue by client report, and summarizes who billed the most and how expenses look.
Check an estimate that was sent
When a client asks about an estimate, the Met finds it among the business's estimates, opens it and confirms what it says, with the items and services it includes.
Look up a single expense or payment
Someone on the team asks whether a payment was already recorded or how much was spent on something. The Met finds the payment or expense in FreshBooks and answers with the detail.

Everything your Met can ask FreshBooks for

The limits
What the FreshBooks integration does NOT do
We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.
-
It does not write to FreshBooks: according to the official listing, the connector is read-only. It does not create or edit clients, invoices, estimates, payments or expenses.
-
It does not charge or record payments. If the client says they already paid, the Met cannot mark it in FreshBooks: your team does that.
-
It does not send invoices or payment reminders from FreshBooks. What the Met says goes through the WhatsApp conversation.
-
It sees no more than the account that authorized the connection. If the account has several businesses, the Met works on the one chosen when listing the businesses.
-
It does not pay your FreshBooks plan. Usage runs on your account and plan; Meteor does not resell the service.
Before you start
What you need to connect FreshBooks
- 1
A FreshBooks account with access to the books
Connect with an account that can see the clients, invoices and reports the Met needs, because the connector works with that account's permissions.
- 2
Connect it in Met
In Met, open Connections → FreshBooks → Connect. A FreshBooks window opens so you can sign in and authorize Met. Since all its tools read, there are no write actions to turn on.
