Netlify and Meteor AI agents

Connect Netlify to a Met: the official MCP server creates, deploys and manages your projects, environment variables, forms and extensions.

How does Netlify connect to Meteor?

With the Netlify ready connector, your Met uses Netlify's official MCP server with the account the admin authorizes. According to Netlify, that server creates, manages and deploys projects, changes access controls, installs or uninstalls extensions, fetches user and team details, and handles form submissions and environment variables and secrets. Netlify groups all of that into six tools by area, such as deploys, projects or extensions, and does not publish which operation each one carries. The deploys, projects, teams and extensions areas start turned off until the admin turns them on in Connections, and each one is turned on as a whole.

What it automates

What a Meteor Met does with Netlify

Deploy and manage projects

Netlify's server creates, manages and deploys projects. Those areas start turned off; if the admin turns them on, the Met can publish a change to your site when your team asks for it.

Review form submissions

Netlify says the server enables and manages a site's form submissions, but not which area that operation is in. If it falls in an area that is off, the admin turns it on so the Met can tell you what came in through the contact form.

Handle environment variables and secrets

The server creates and manages your projects' environment variables and secrets, for example to change a key for a service your site uses. If that operation falls in an area that is off, it depends on the admin turning it on.

Check your user and your teams

The Met brings the details of the connected user. Those of the teams they belong to on Netlify are in the teams area, which starts turned off.

Install or remove extensions

The server installs or uninstalls Netlify extensions. That area starts turned off; if the admin turns it on, the Met does it when you ask.

6 tools

Everything your Met can ask Netlify for

Each one is a real action in the connector. You can switch off the ones you would rather it never used.

Tool What it does
netlify_coding_rules Groups Netlify's coding rules.
netlify_user_services Groups Netlify's operations on your user.
netlify_deploy_services Groups Netlify's deploy operations. Starts turned off.
netlify_team_services Groups Netlify's operations on your teams. Starts turned off.
netlify_project_services Groups Netlify's operations on your projects. Starts turned off.
netlify_extension_services Groups Netlify's operations on extensions. Starts turned off.

The limits

What the Netlify integration does NOT do

We would rather say it here than have you find out during rollout.

Before you start

What you need to connect Netlify

  1. 1

A Netlify account with your projects

The account your team publishes sites with on Netlify. The Met works with that account's permissions.

  2. 2

    Connect it in Met

In Met, open Connections → Netlify → Connect. A Netlify window opens so you sign in and authorize Met. Then the admin chooses which areas stay on.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Netlify and Meteor

Because Netlify's server groups them by area: coding rules, user, teams, projects, deploys and extensions. Each one bundles several operations of that area.

Netlify's server deploys projects, but the deploys area starts turned off. Only if the admin turns it on in Connections can the Met deploy.

You do, with your Netlify account and plan. Meteor does not resell Netlify: the connector uses your company's account.
