AI agent for dental clinics: appointments on WhatsApp, in your Dentalink calendar
Your Met answers on WhatsApp at any hour and books, moves, confirms or cancels your patients’ appointments in Dentalink, with the slots Dentalink reports as open for each location and each dentist.
What does an AI agent do in a dental clinic?
An AI agent for dental clinics answers patients on WhatsApp who want to book, move or cancel an appointment, and it works on the clinic’s real calendar. In Meteor that agent is a Met connected to Dentalink, the dental clinic management software: it asks for the patient’s ID, looks the patient up and registers them only if they do not exist; it asks for the location, the date and whether they prefer a dentist or a specialty, and offers only the slots Dentalink returns as available. It confirms date, time, location and dentist in one message, books when the patient says yes, and later moves, confirms or cancels that appointment in the same chat, only if it belongs to the patient identified in the conversation. If your clinic does not use Dentalink, the Met books on Meteor’s own calendar. It gives no diagnoses or clinical advice and does not read the clinical record.
Is your front desk answering WhatsApp between patients?
These are the bottlenecks costing your dental clinics operation the most sales and time.
Your Dentalink calendar, open on WhatsApp at any hour
Your Met answers on WhatsApp at any hour and books, moves, confirms or cancels your patients’ appointments in Dentalink, with the slots Dentalink reports as open for each location and each dentist.
Before and after
From the same old bottlenecks to a real advantage
Patients write at any hour and the reply comes when the front desk is free.
The Met books inside the chat at any hour, with the slots Dentalink reports as open.
Slots quoted from memory that do not match the calendar.
Availability is checked in Dentalink by location, date and dentist before it is offered.
Patients registered twice because nobody searched first.
It searches by ID before creating, and an ID that already exists is not registered again.
Moving or cancelling an appointment means calling the clinic.
The patient moves, confirms or cancels it in the same chat, on their own appointments.
The solution
How Meteor automates your dental clinics operation
The slots Dentalink reports as open
The Met checks availability for a location on a date, for the appointment’s length, for one dentist or for every dentist with online scheduling. It never works out slots on its own, and if a slot is taken while the patient decides, it offers the options Dentalink returns.
The right patient, no duplicates
It searches by ID, mobile number, email or name before creating anything. If the patient does not exist, it asks for first name, last names, ID and mobile number and registers them; if one already exists with that ID, it uses that one.
With a dentist or by specialty
The patient picks their dentist or a specialty, such as orthodontics or endodontics. The appointment takes the chair of the chosen slot; when booked by specialty, Dentalink assigns it to a dentist of that specialty.
Move, confirm or cancel in the same chat
It finds the patient’s appointments, checks with them which one it is, and moves it to another open slot, confirms it or cancels it. The reason for a cancellation is added to the appointment’s comment.
Several locations from one line
It lists the clinic’s branches with their address, and both the slot search and the booking take the location, so one WhatsApp line serves all of them.
Reminder and handover to the front desk
Meteor’s CRM schedules the reminder per patient, and at the agreed time it goes out as an approved WhatsApp template. When the case needs a person, the conversation goes to the front desk with its summary.
Integrations
The tools the Met works with in your clinic
Dentalink is connected from Connections with your clinic’s token. These are the other pieces of the journey: the calendar for a clinic that does not use Dentalink, the CRM that keeps the conversation, payments and acquisition.
Meteor Scheduling
7 toolsIf your clinic does not use Dentalink: you declare the services, their length and their hours, and the Met checks open slots and books in the name of whoever is writing. With Google Calendar or Outlook connected, each booking creates its event.

The limits
What Meteor does NOT do in dental clinics
We would rather say it here than have you find out during implementation.
-
It does not read the clinical record, the dental chart, treatment plans or quotes: the Dentalink connection covers branches, dentists, specialties, patients, slots and appointments.
-
It does not work out slots on its own: it offers only what Dentalink returns as available. A dentist without online scheduling in Dentalink has no slots the Met can offer.
-
It only moves, confirms or cancels an appointment of the patient identified in the conversation by their ID: an appointment number that does not belong to that patient is rejected.
-
It does not record payments or deposits in Dentalink. If you connect Wompi, the payment link and its status live in Wompi, and your team reconciles them with Dentalink.
-
It gives no diagnoses or clinical advice: that is the dentist’s job at the appointment.
-
The Dentalink connection does not send reminders. The WhatsApp reminder is scheduled by Meteor’s CRM, one patient at a time and as an approved template.
-
Dentalink grants permissions per token: if your clinic’s token is missing one, the Met explains it and does not retry, and an administrator enables it in Dentalink.

Questions about Meteor in dental clinics
Yes. A clinic administrator generates the token in Dentalink («Administrador → Configuración API»), you paste it in Meteor’s Connections and add the «Agenda dental (Dentalink)» skill to your Met. From there the Met reads branches, dentists, specialties, patients and slots, and books, moves, confirms or cancels appointments.
From Dentalink. The Met checks the location’s availability on the date the patient asks for, for the appointment’s length, and offers only those blocks. It does not build its own list or work out gaps on its own.
The Met books on Meteor’s own calendar, which asks for no credentials: you declare the services, their length and their hours, and from that it checks open slots and books in the name of whoever is writing. If you connect Google Calendar or Outlook, each booking creates its event.
No. It gives no diagnoses or advice and does not read the clinical record. That conversation belongs to the dentist; the Met books the assessment or hands the chat to the front desk.
Yes. The Met finds the patient’s appointments, checks with them which one it is, and moves it to another open slot or cancels it. An appointment that does not belong to the patient identified in the conversation is rejected.
Yes. Every new Meteor account starts with a 7-day trial and US$5 of Energy, no card required. If you would rather see it with your own case, you can book a live demo.
