For a business that wants to answer on WhatsApp without paying or integrating anything, Meta Business Agent fits: it comes inside the WhatsApp Business app and, according to Meta, getting started is free. Meta Business Agent is a better fit if…

You want to start today without paying. Meta says getting started with its agent is free, and since September 2026 it sells more responses through Meta One plans.
You do not want to integrate anything: in the India announcement, it is turned on from the Tools tab of the WhatsApp Business app, with no code and no third-party tools, and it learns from the catalog and documents you upload.
What customers ask most is hours, price, catalog and appointments. Meta describes it as answering questions about your business, recommending products from your catalog, booking appointments and qualifying customers.
You sell on Shopify or support customers with Zendesk and you are a large company that wants to customize its agent: Meta announced a platform for businesses that connects its agent to hundreds of systems like those.

Meteor is a better fit if…

The agent has to work with your systems: checking stock in Shopify or WooCommerce, quoting in Siigo or Alegra, or working on Odoo. Each integration publishes its tools and what it does not do.
You want to collect inside the chat with a Wompi or Mercado Pago link, and have the order move forward only when the gateway approves the payment.
You want what matters to wait for a person's approval: invoices, refunds, bulk sends or posts. A channel Met quotes, but does not create the invoice.
You serve customers as a team: WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and web chat in a single inbox, with the CRM included in every plan.

Can I move from the WhatsApp Business app to Meteor without changing my number?

Yes, if Meta enables coexistence for your number: the same number is connected to Meteor, you can keep using the phone app, and your contacts and up to six months of conversations are imported. During implementation, the Meteor team reviews the line and supports the connection.
