Meteor vs Kommo: what a Latin American company should actually compare
Meteor vs Kommo for WhatsApp: where each one goes further, with Kommo's official documentation linked. Reviewed on August 7, 2026.
When is Kommo the right choice, and when is Meteor, for selling on WhatsApp?
Kommo documents a sales CRM built around messaging: visual pipeline, unified inbox, Salesbot, broadcasts and native mobile apps, with per user plans and a 14 day trial. It fits when the work gets done inside the CRM and the chat. Meteor fits when a conversation has to move the systems your operation already runs on: querying a Colombian ERP, quoting in Alegra, booking an appointment and leaving the record in the CRM without a person copying data between screens. The question is not how many checkboxes each one has. It is what is actually finished after the message.
This comparison was reviewed on August 7, 2026 against the public Kommo documentation linked at the end. It does not decide for your operation. It exists so you walk into a sales conversation with verifiable questions.
The short answer
Kommo presents itself as a sales CRM built on messaging. Its documentation describes a unified inbox, a drag and drop pipeline, a no code Salesbot, broadcasts, Meta approved templates and native mobile apps. It is a mature product with a clear proposition: the work happens inside the CRM.
Meteor starts from a different assumption. The conversation is the trigger, and the work rarely ends in the CRM. It ends in the ERP that holds the balance, in the calendar that holds the appointment, in the invoice somebody has to prepare. A Met answers, queries those systems with declared permissions, and leaves the record and the owner ready for a person to continue.
Neither sentence is a verdict. They are two different ways of splitting the work, and the right one depends on where the information your customers ask about actually lives today.
Where Kommo goes further
We start here on purpose. A comparison that wins every row informs nobody, and these four rows come from Kommo’s official documentation, not from an impression.
| Area | What Kommo documents | What Meteor has today |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile app | Native apps published on Google Play and the App Store, integrated with the desktop version. | Meteor runs in the browser and installs as a web app. There is no native app in the stores. |
| Native channel features | Its WhatsApp Business documentation names product catalog, carousels, bulk broadcasts, WhatsApp Business app sync and cost analytics. | Meteor sends interactive buttons and lists, but publishes no WhatsApp catalog or carousels, and its reminders go out one at a time rather than as a bulk broadcast. If your sale depends on those formats, that favors Kommo. |
| Entry cost | Four per user plans, published, with a 14 day trial that includes Pro plan features. | Meteor has no free plan and starts at US$99 a month, with 5 members included. For a team of two or three people, getting started with Kommo costs less. |
| Large company requirements | The Enterprise plan documents single sign on, scheduled backups, service level agreements and dedicated account management. | Meteor handles these case by case. If your purchase requires that checklist in writing from day one, ask for it before moving forward. |
If your operation recognizes itself in that table, Kommo is probably the right answer and this comparison ends here. Saying so is the honest thing to do.
Where the difference becomes local
The blind spot of almost every global platform is not quality: it is that your ERP is not in its catalog. Kommo is an international product and its strength is the channel and the pipeline. Meteor was built looking at Latin American operations, and that shows in what an agent can query without anyone opening another screen.
- ERP and administration. Meteor reads stock, price, credit limit and orders in SIESA, and prepares quotes or reviews receivables in Alegra. The SIESA record states the limit on the same page: it reads data, it does not create orders, payments or accounting documents.
- Sales and logistics. It reads and syncs catalogs in Mercado Libre, WooCommerce and Shopify; generates a Mercado Pago payment link and confirms its status through a signed webhook; quotes shipping with TCC and dispatches with Aveonline; handles Rappi orders.
- Sectors with their own inventory. It queries property listings in Wasi for real estate.
Every one of those records publishes what the integration does and what it does not. That second part is what prevents the awkward meeting in month three.
Scheduling is the clearest example
A customer writes on a Saturday and wants an appointment. On many platforms that resolves into a link to a booking page, and the customer has to leave the conversation.
The Meteor scheduler is native and the agent operates it inside the chat: it lists bookable services with duration and price, returns open slots between two dates, creates the booking tied to the contact, retrieves it, cancels it and reschedules it to another time or another staff member. It asks for no external credentials because there is no external tool.
It is worth stating what it does not do: it does not charge for the appointment or take a deposit. It shows the price, and the payment goes through whichever payment integration you have connected.
What to compare before asking for a demo
| Question | Kommo: confirm what your plan covers | Meteor: what gets finished |
|---|---|---|
| Where does the conversation live? | Unified inbox with assignment per rep and a visual pipeline. Confirm channels and plan. | The Met answers, recognizes or creates the contact and keeps context in the native CRM. |
| What happens when a customer asks about real data? | Confirm which connector covers your ERP or store and what data it exposes. | It queries the connected system with the actions its record publishes, and answers with the value rather than a promise. |
| Who books the appointment? | Confirm whether your plan includes booking pages and how they connect to chat. | The native scheduler creates, cancels and reschedules inside the conversation. |
| What gets recorded? | Confirm what the bot writes to the contact and the pipeline. | Contact, custom fields, tags, internal notes, pipeline stage, reminder and owner. |
| Who is the provider of record with Meta? | Confirm in your contract who stays as the provider for your number, and what happens the day you switch platforms. | Meteor is a Meta Tech Provider and connects your number through the official WhatsApp API. |
| How is channel usage paid? | Ask in writing whether channel usage is billed separately and at what rate under your plan. | Meta charges usage at its public rate. Meteor bills you directly, with no resale and no markup on the message. |
| Are there written limits before buying? | Ask in writing for the flow detail, permissions and responsibilities. | Every record publishes a section on what it does not do. SIESA only reads; the native CRM does not write to your corporate CRM. |
The demo Meteor has to win
Do not ask for a demo of pretty messages. Both platforms pass that test. Ask for a full journey with your accounts and your data:
- A customer asks whether something is available and at what price. The system reads your real ERP or store, not a catalog loaded by hand for the meeting.
- The customer wants to book. The appointment is created, and when they ask to move it to Thursday, it reschedules after checking the new slot is free.
- A record remains that a rep can pick up on Monday: contact, stage, context note and assigned owner.
- Something breaks. The ERP does not respond. Ask what the agent says at that moment, because it will happen, and that answer matters more than the previous three tests.
Run the same list with Kommo. If both pass, choose on price and on how comfortable your team feels, which is a perfectly valid reason.
How to close the decision
One question orders everything: does your team’s work end inside the CRM, or does it end in other systems?
If it ends inside the CRM, a mature messaging CRM is the right tool and Kommo competes well there. If it ends in an ERP, an invoice, a shipment or a calendar, then what you need to evaluate is not the inbox. It is what the agent can query and execute without a person acting as a bridge between two screens.
That is the comparison worth making, and it is answered with a test, not a table.
The limits
What this article does NOT answer
We would rather say it here than leave you hunting for something that is not there.
-
It does not compare prices or declare which one is cheaper. Plans, channel charges and terms change, and they only compare against equivalent quotes for the same country and volume.
-
It does not measure AI quality, uptime, conversions or implementation time. Those numbers depend on the process, the data, the team and how each account is configured.
-
It does not claim Kommo cannot cover a specific capability beyond its public documentation. Before deciding, confirm scope, permissions and plan for your case directly with Kommo.
-
It does not include a feature grid full of checkmarks. A checkmark never says who runs the action, with which credential, or what gets recorded afterwards.

Questions on this topic
Both connect WhatsApp to a CRM and automate replies. Kommo documents a unified inbox, a visual pipeline and Salesbot; Meteor has a native CRM and scheduler that the agent operates through tools. If your need ends there, both are reasonable and the decision comes down to price and how comfortable your team feels.
In what happens when the right answer lives outside the CRM. Meteor connects SIESA, Alegra, Mercado Pago, Mercado Libre, Rappi, TCC, Wasi, WooCommerce and Shopify, each with published actions and limits. The useful question is not whether a platform has integrations, but whether it has yours and what exactly it does with it.
The same journey with your own data: a customer writes, the system reads the real value in your ERP or your store, answers with that information, books or quotes, records the outcome in the CRM and notifies the owner. Ask for the name of every action, the credential it uses and what happens when the external system does not respond.
Kommo publishes native apps for Android and iOS. Meteor runs in the browser and installs as a web app on a phone. If your sales team works mostly from a phone, that difference is real and worth testing before you decide.
Yes, and you should. Kommo offers a trial with access to its Pro plan features. What matters is that both trials solve the same real case from your operation, not a rehearsed demo conversation.
