Register in Clientify the lead who writes on WhatsApp with a note, an owner and a task
An AI agent registers in Clientify whoever writes on WhatsApp, leaves a note, assigns an owner and creates the follow up task.
How do I make every lead who writes on WhatsApp land in Clientify with an owner and a task?
A Met connected to Clientify looks the person up in your contacts with the name or email they gave in the chat. If they do not show up, it creates them and adds the phone number they wrote from. Then it leaves a note with what they asked for, adds the product or source tag, checks the Clientify users to assign the owner its instructions name and creates the follow up task with a due date. The lead does not stay stuck in the chat: it lands in Clientify, where your sales team already works.
What starts it
When the customer writes
It starts when someone writes on WhatsApp asking for information, a price or an appointment. There is no trigger to set up: the Met assigned to the line runs the procedure inside that conversation.
Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.
Who runs it
Met that receives and registers new leads
Sales team
It has no seeded name: it is the Met that answers the sales WhatsApp line with Clientify connected. Its work ends when the lead is in Clientify, with a note, a tag, an owner and a task.

5 steps · 8 tools
The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Check whether the person is already a contact
With the name or email the person gave in the chat, the Met lists your contacts using the search. If they already exist, it keeps that record and does not create another one.
- 2
Create them if they are new
If they do not show up, the Met creates the contact with their first name, last name and email, and adds the phone number they wrote from on WhatsApp. This step needs the create contact and add phone actions on.
- 3
Leave a note and a tag
The Met writes a note on the record summarizing what the person asked for and adds the tag its instructions name, for example the product or WhatsApp as the source.
- 4
Assign an owner
The Met checks the Clientify users and assigns the contact to the teammate its instructions name, so the lead has an owner from the first message.
- 5
Create the follow up task
Finally, the Met creates a follow up task for that owner, with a description of what needs to be done and the due date its instructions set.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
The Clientify ready connector
In Met, open Connections → Clientify → Connect, sign in to Clientify and authorize access. Then leave on the actions to create contacts, notes, tags, tasks and assign an owner.
-
A WhatsApp line with the Met assigned
You connect your WhatsApp Business API line in Met and assign the sales Met. Clientify remains the CRM; the conversation happens on WhatsApp.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not ask anyone for confirmation before creating the contact or the task. If the actions are on, the Met writes to Clientify with what was said in the chat.
-
It does not open an opportunity in the pipeline. The tools on the connector page cover contacts, companies, tasks and users; your team creates the deal in Clientify.
-
It does not send a WhatsApp notice when a teammate completes the task. Clientify shows it to its owner; a notice back needs a separate automation.
-
It does not merge duplicates. If the person wrote before with another email, a second contact may remain for your team to merge in Clientify.
