Move the changes a client asks for on WhatsApp about a video into Frame.io
An AI agent finds the video in Frame.io, leaves the changes the client asked for on WhatsApp as timed comments and sends the link again.
How do I get the changes my client asks for on WhatsApp into Frame.io as comments?
Your client reviews the video and writes on WhatsApp "at second 12 change the logo". The Met searches Frame.io for that client's file, opens the stack to keep the latest version and reads the comments it already has, so it does not repeat one. Then it leaves the change as a comment anchored to second 12, where the editor sees it in Frame.io. If the client asks for the review link again, the Met finds the one the team already shared and sends it. Commenting depends on the admin leaving that action on.
What starts it
When the customer writes
It starts when a client writes on WhatsApp with changes to a piece under review, or to ask for the link. There is no trigger to configure: the Met assigned to the line handles it inside that conversation.
Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.
Who runs it
Agency support Met that works in Frame.io
Customer service team
This is not a named, seeded Met. It is the Met that answers the agency's or studio's WhatsApp, with Frame.io connected: its work ends when the client's change is a comment on the right file, or when the client has their review link.

5 steps · 5 tools
The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Find the client's file
The Met searches the Frame.io account by the name of the piece or the client, across projects, folders, files and version stacks. If it finds two similar ones, it asks the client which one before commenting.
- 2
Keep the latest version
The Met opens the version stack and lists its versions to comment on the latest one, which is the one the client is watching, and not on an old cut.
- 3
Read the comments it already has
Before writing, the Met reads the file's comments and replies. If the change was already requested, it tells the client and does not duplicate it.
- 4
Leave the change anchored to the second they pointed out
The Met adds a comment with the client's change, anchored to the timecode they mentioned. If the client did not give a second, it leaves a general comment and tells the client.
- 5
Send the review link that already exists
If the client asks for the link again, the Met lists the project's share links, finds the one with their piece and sends it. It does not create a new one.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
Frame.io connected in Met
In Met, open Connections → Frame.io → Connect and sign in with the Adobe ID of the agency's Frame.io account. Leave the comment action on.
-
Pieces named after the client
The Met searches by name. If each project or file carries the client's name, it finds the piece without asking.
-
A WhatsApp line with the Met assigned
The agency connects its WhatsApp Business API line and assigns it the Met that answers clients, with the Frame.io skill.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not edit the video: it leaves the change as a comment so the editor makes it in their software.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before commenting: if the action is on, the comment lands in Frame.io with what it understood from the message.
-
It does not guess the exact second if the client does not say it. In that case the comment is general and the Met tells the client.
-
It does not work with Frame.io Legacy accounts or with an Adobe organization other than your account's: there, searches come back empty.
FAQ
Questions about this automation
No. The comment is left by the account you connected in Met. The text should say it comes from the client on WhatsApp.
The same tool marks a comment as complete or reopens it. This procedure does not do it: the editor decides that when the change is done.
Yes. Frame.io lets a comment be anchored to a page of a PDF or a point on an image, so the Met does the same with a graphic piece.
Not in this procedure. Creating links starts switched off until the admin turns it on, and anyone can open a public link; that is why this procedure reuses the one the team built.
