Email the free guide people ask for on WhatsApp with a Kit sequence
An AI agent takes the email of whoever asks for your free guide on WhatsApp, adds them to Kit with a tag and puts them in your delivery sequence.
How do I email my free guide to people who ask for it on WhatsApp, using Kit?
A Met connected to Kit asks for the email of the person who writes on WhatsApp asking for your free guide, catalog or recipe book. It finds the tag and the delivery sequence your team set up in Kit, creates the subscriber with that email, applies the tag that says they came from WhatsApp and adds them to the sequence, which is what sends the email with the material. If the person later says it never arrived, the Met checks their stats in Kit and tells them whether the email went out, bounced or was already opened. Kit marks those three writes as destructive: they start switched off and the admin decides whether to turn them on.
What starts it
When the customer writes
It starts when someone writes on WhatsApp to ask for the free material you promote, for example from an ad or a post. There is no trigger to configure: the line's Met runs the procedure inside that conversation.
Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.
Who runs it
Support Met that delivers your free material by email
Social team
This is not a named, seeded Met. It is the Met that answers the business's WhatsApp, with Kit connected. Its work ends when the person is inside the delivery sequence with their tag, or when it confirms what happened to the email.

6 steps · 6 tools
The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Find the source tag
The Met lists the tags in your Kit account and keeps the one your team uses for people who come from WhatsApp, for example "Source WhatsApp". That way you later know how many subscribers the chat brought you.
- 2
Find the delivery sequence
The Met lists your sequences and picks the one that delivers the material, the one you named in the skill. Kit only lets you add people to an active sequence, so check it is active before you announce the guide.
- 3
Create the subscriber with their email
With the email and name the person gave, the Met creates the subscriber in Kit. If that email was already on your list, Kit updates it instead of duplicating it. This action starts switched off and the admin has to turn it on.
- 4
Apply the WhatsApp tag
The Met applies the source tag it found in the first step. Kit also marks this action as destructive, so it starts switched off until the admin turns it on.
- 5
Add them to the sequence that sends the guide
The Met adds the subscriber to the delivery sequence and tells the person the material is on its way to their inbox. The content and timing of each email come from the sequence your team built in Kit, not from the Met.
- 6
Answer if they say it never arrived
If the person writes back because they cannot see the email, the Met checks their stats in Kit: how many emails were sent, whether any bounced and whether they opened one. With that it asks them to check spam or fix a misspelled address.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
An active delivery sequence in Kit
Your team builds a sequence in Kit whose first email delivers the guide or catalog, and leaves it active. Without that sequence the Met adds the person, but nobody sends the material.
-
Kit connected with the writes turned on
In Met, open Connections → Kit → Connect and authorize with your list's account, on a paid Kit plan. Then the admin turns on creating, tagging and adding subscribers to sequences, which start switched off.
-
A WhatsApp line with the Met assigned
The business connects its WhatsApp Business API line and assigns the Met that answers customers. Everything happens inside that conversation; Kit keeps the list and the emails.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not write the sequence emails. Your team builds the material and copy in Kit; the Met only adds the person to the sequence that already exists.
-
It does not ask for sending consent with legal wording on its own. If your country or your policy requires explicit consent, write it in the skill so the Met asks first.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before creating or tagging the subscriber: if the actions are on, it runs them. The admin decides which ones stay on.
-
It does not work on Kit's free plan: the tools do not run there. You need the Creator or Pro plan.
-
It does not guarantee the email lands in the main inbox. If Kit records a bounce, the Met says so, but delivery depends on the person's email provider.
FAQ
Questions about this automation
Kit matches by email: if they already existed, it updates them instead of creating another one. The Met still applies the tag and adds them to the sequence if they were not in it.
Because Kit marks the tools that create, tag or add subscribers as destructive, and Met keeps the tools the server marks that way off. The admin turns them on in Connections.
Yes, through the source tag. In Kit you see how many subscribers have it, and the Met can also answer it on WhatsApp by listing who has it.
Yes. Kit only runs its connector tools on the paid plans, Creator and Pro, and usage runs on your Kit account.
