Verify and save in Hunter the B2B prospect who writes on WhatsApp, with their company's decision maker
An AI agent uses Hunter to verify the email of a WhatsApp prospect, complete their company, find the decision maker and save the lead.
How do I verify the email of a prospect writing on WhatsApp and find who decides at their company?
A Met connected to Hunter verifies the work email the prospect leaves on WhatsApp and, if it is not deliverable, asks for another one in the same conversation. Then it completes their company details from the domain and lists the executive level contacts in the department you care about, to know who decides. It checks whether the prospect was already a lead and, if not, saves them in the list your team uses without overwriting data you already had. Verifying, completing the company and searching the domain spend credits from your Hunter plan; checking and saving leads do not.
What starts it
When the customer writes
It starts when someone from a company writes on WhatsApp asking for a quote or a demo and leaves their work email. There is no trigger to set up: the Met assigned to the line runs the procedure inside that conversation.
Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.
Who runs it
Met that receives and qualifies B2B prospects
Sales team
It has no seeded name: it is the Met that answers the sales line of a company that sells to other companies, with Hunter connected. Its work ends when the prospect is saved as a lead, with a deliverable email and their company's decision maker identified.

6 steps · 6 tools
The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Verify the email they gave
The Met verifies the prospect's work email. If Hunter says it is not deliverable, it asks for another one in the chat before going on. It charges 1 verification credit per email with a result.
- 2
Complete their company details
With the email domain, the Met completes the company details, to know its size and what it does before recommending a plan. It charges 1 or 2 credits depending on your plan, only if data is found.
- 3
Find who decides
The Met lists the domain's contacts at the executive level and in the department its instructions set, for example sales or finance. It charges 1 credit per 10 emails returned.
- 4
Check whether they were already a lead
Before saving, the Met checks whether the prospect's email is already a lead in your Hunter account, to avoid a duplicate. This step spends no credits.
- 5
Pick the leads list
The Met lists your leads lists and picks the one its instructions point to, for example the one for prospects arriving on WhatsApp, to save the prospect there.
- 6
Save the lead without overwriting data
The Met saves the prospect in that list with the action that only creates when missing, so it does not overwrite data your team already had. This step needs that action on and spends no credits.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
The Hunter ready connector
In Met, open Connections → Hunter.io → Connect, sign in to Hunter and authorize access. Then leave the save leads action on.
-
Credits in your Hunter plan
Verifying, completing the company and searching the domain spend credits from your plan. You can create a free account at hunter.io and the MCP works with all its plans.
-
A WhatsApp line with the Met assigned
You connect your WhatsApp Business API line in Met and assign the sales Met. Hunter remains the prospecting data source; the conversation happens on WhatsApp.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not write to the decision maker. This automation identifies them and saves the prospect; adding them to a sequence is another action, which starts off until the admin turns it on.
-
It does not work with personal emails. The domain search and company details come from the work domain; a Gmail address does not say which company the person works for.
-
It does not ask anyone for confirmation before saving the lead. If the action is on, the Met saves it with what was said in the chat.
-
It is not free. Every verification, every completed company and every domain search spends credits from your Hunter plan.
FAQ
Questions about this automation
One verification, 1 or 2 credits for the company details and 1 credit per 10 emails from the domain search. Checking and saving the lead spends nothing.
Yes. The Hunter page includes the action to find an email from a name and domain, which charges 1 credit only if it finds it.
If you have a CRM connected in Hunter, the page includes the action to send leads to that CRM. This automation ends when the lead is saved in Hunter.
The Met sees it in the fourth step and does not create another one. If it saves anyway, the action it uses does not overwrite the existing lead's data.
