Ask on WhatsApp for a Zoom meeting transcript and save it
Ask on WhatsApp what was said in a Zoom meeting: an AI agent pulls the recording's transcript and summary and saves them in Zoom Hub.
How do I get a Zoom meeting transcript from WhatsApp without hunting for the recording?
You text your Met on WhatsApp "what price did we give the builder in Tuesday's meeting?". The Met searches for the meeting by keyword and date, lists your cloud recordings for those days and pulls the transcript and summary from the recording. It answers with the part you asked about and, if you ask, saves the transcript as a file in Zoom Hub so the team can find it later. For a transcript and summary to exist, the meeting must have been recorded to the cloud with AI Companion's smart recording and summary switched on in your Zoom account.
What starts it
When someone asks for it
It starts when someone on the team asks the Met on WhatsApp what was said in a meeting or asks for the transcript. Each question is on request.
A manual task: someone on the team runs it with a button, or asks the Met for it in chat.
Who runs it
Internal Met that remembers what was said on Zoom
This is not a named, seeded Met. It is an internal Met with Zoom connected, for the owner or the team that meets with customers: it is done when it answered your question with what the recording says, or when the transcript is saved in Zoom Hub.

The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Find the meeting
The Met searches for the meeting by keyword and date range with AI Companion search, such as the customer's name and the week it happened. This search only reads.
- 2
Locate the recording
The Met lists the cloud recordings of the user who authorized the connection, filtered by those dates or by that meeting, to find the one with the transcript.
- 3
Pull the transcript and summary
The Met pulls the transcript, summary and next steps from the recording and answers with the part you asked about, instead of pasting the whole meeting.
- 4
Add what the meeting left behind
If the meeting left whiteboards or documents, the Met pulls them along with its summary. And if someone on the team took notes in My Notes or Zoom Canvas, it reads them too to complete the answer.
- 5
Save the transcript in Zoom Hub
If you ask, the Met creates a file in Zoom Hub with the transcript or the summary, up to 100 KB of content, so the team finds it without asking again.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
An OAuth app in the Zoom App Marketplace
The admin creates a general app with user OAuth on marketplace.zoom.us, registers the return URL Met shows and grants it search and recording permissions. Then copies its Client ID.
-
Zoom connected in Met
In Met, open Connections → Zoom → Connect, paste your app's Client ID and sign in to Zoom to authorize Met. The admin leaves Hub file creation on if you are going to use it.
-
AI Companion smart recording and summary
In the Zoom web portal, AI Companion section, the admin switches on Smart Recording and Meeting Summary. Without that, meetings leave no transcript or summary for the Met to read.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not transcribe a meeting that was not recorded to the cloud with AI Companion: if Zoom did not record it, the Met has nothing to read.
-
It does not see the whole company's recordings: it lists those of the Zoom user who authorized the connection.
-
It does not schedule or change meetings: this Zoom server only searches, reads and creates documents.
-
It does not ask for confirmation in the chat before creating the file in Zoom Hub: if the action is on, it creates it when you ask.
-
It does not save very long transcripts in a single file: Zoom Hub takes up to 100 KB of content per file created this way.
FAQ
Questions about this automation
No. The transcript and summary come from the cloud recording with AI Companion. If the meeting was not recorded that way, the Met tells you it finds nothing to read.
Yes, and it is the most useful way: you ask what was agreed on a topic and the Met answers with that part of the transcript or the summary.
In Zoom Hub, as a file in your Zoom account, if you ask. The Met does not store it in Meteor as a separate document.
You do, with your Zoom plan. Meteor does not resell Zoom, and cloud recording and AI Companion depend on what your plan includes.
