Charge on WhatsApp with a Tilopay link and confirm the customer paid

An AI agent creates the Tilopay payment link in the WhatsApp conversation, checks the payment came in and forwards the receipt.

How do I send a customer a Tilopay payment link on WhatsApp and know whether they paid?

A Met connected to Tilopay tells the customer how they can pay based on what your merchant has enabled, for example card or SINPE Móvil. It finds the product in your Tilopay catalog to take the price you set, creates the charge and shares the short link that opens the secure payment form. When the customer says they paid, the Met looks for the charge in Tilopay, opens the transaction and answers with the real status. If the payment is approved, it forwards the receipt text. It does not refund or charge saved cards: those actions start switched off.

Where it applies: Costa Rica. Written for Costa Rican merchants that charge with Tilopay; SINPE Móvil is a Costa Rican payment method.

What starts it

When the customer writes

It starts when a customer decides to buy on WhatsApp and asks how to pay. There is no trigger to configure: the Met assigned to the line runs the procedure inside that conversation.

Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.

Who runs it

Sales Met that charges with Tilopay links

Sales team

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is the Met that already answers the business's WhatsApp, with Tilopay connected. Its work ends when the customer has paid and has their receipt, or when the payment does not show up and the case goes to the team.

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

    Say how they can pay

The Met checks the methods your merchant has enabled in Tilopay, such as card brands, SINPE and currencies, and answers the customer with that list and not one from memory.

  2. 2

Take the price from the catalog

The Met searches the Tilopay catalog for the product or service the customer wants, by name or description, and takes the price you loaded. If the product is not there, it uses the amount your team agreed with the customer.

  3. 3

Create the charge and share the link

The Met creates the charge for that amount and shares the Tilopay short link in the conversation, which opens the secure payment form. The customer pays there, not inside the chat.

  4. 4

Look for the payment when the customer says so

When the customer says they paid, the Met searches Tilopay charges for that person's payment or that amount. It does not trust the screenshot: it answers with what Tilopay says.

  5. 5

    Confirm the transaction status

With the payment located, the Met opens the transaction by its order number and checks whether it was approved or declined. If it was declined, it tells the customer and offers another enabled payment method or a new charge.

  6. 6

    Forward the receipt

If the payment is approved, the Met lists the latest receipts, takes the one for that charge and forwards the customer the text Tilopay leaves ready to share.

FAQ

Questions about this automation

No. The Met shares the Tilopay short link and the customer pays in the secure form that link opens. Then the Met checks in Tilopay whether the payment came in.

It depends on the currencies your merchant has set up in Tilopay. The Met checks them before answering and does not offer a currency you do not have active.

The Met sees it when it opens the transaction and tells the customer, so they can try another method. It does not retry the charge on its own.
