Charge over WhatsApp with a Stripe payment link

An AI agent creates the Stripe payment link for what the customer ordered, sends it on WhatsApp and checks in Stripe whether it was paid.

How do I charge a customer over WhatsApp with Stripe without opening the Dashboard to create the link?

A Met connected to Stripe reads your account currency, checks whether the product and its price already exist and, if one is missing, creates it. Then it creates a payment link with the agreed quantity and sends it to the customer in the same WhatsApp conversation. The customer pays on the Stripe page with the methods your account accepts, and their card details never go through the chat. When the customer says they paid, the Met checks the sessions of that link in Stripe and replies with the real status. All of this depends on Stripe writing being on.

What starts it

When the customer writes

It starts when the customer decides to buy inside the WhatsApp conversation. There is no trigger to set up: the Met assigned to the line creates the link and sends it right there.

Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.

Who runs it

Sales Met that closes in the chat

Sales team

It is the Met that carries the conversation to the purchase. Its work ends when the customer has a correct payment link and the Met can say, based on what Stripe says, whether they paid.

5 steps · 5 tools

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

Read the Stripe account before charging

The Met checks the connected account details, such as country and currency, to create the price in the currency you charge in and not in one the chat assumed.

  2. 2

Find the API methods it will use

Since Stripe's MCP is a gateway to its API, the Met searches for the product, price and payment link methods and reads their detailed parameters, so it builds each call with the fields Stripe requires.

  3. 3

Check whether the product and price already exist

Before creating anything, the Met lists the account products and prices to reuse the one that already exists. That way it does not fill Stripe with repeated products with the same name and a different price.

  4. 4

Create the payment link and send it

If the product or price is missing, the Met creates it. Then it creates the payment link with the agreed quantity and sends it to the customer on WhatsApp. This step only happens if Stripe writing is on.

  5. 5

Check in Stripe whether the customer paid

When the customer says they paid, the Met lists the checkout sessions of that link and reads their payment status. It replies with what Stripe recorded, instead of asking for a screenshot of the receipt.

Questions about this automation

That depends on your Stripe account and the methods you have active. The Met creates the link; the payment page and the methods it accepts belong to Stripe.

The Met creates a new link with the new quantity. It reuses the existing product and price and only changes what goes into the link.

Yes. Connect the Stripe sandbox first: the Met creates test links and you can pay them with Stripe test cards.

Your Stripe account, with its per transaction fees. Met does not charge for the calls your Met makes to Stripe.
