Remove the background from the product photos you send on WhatsApp with Picsart

Send a product photo on WhatsApp: an AI agent checks your Picsart credits, removes the background and saves it in your catalog folder.

How do I remove the background from my product photos by sending them on WhatsApp?

You send your Met a product photo taken with your phone on WhatsApp. The Met first checks your Picsart credit balance, uploads the photo to your Picsart Drive to get a link, because Picsart only takes images by link, and removes the background. Before sending it back, it looks at the result to check no part of the product was cut off. If you want another background, for example a wooden table, it changes it based on what you describe. The image stays in your catalog folder in Picsart. Removing and changing backgrounds spend credits and start switched off: the admin decides whether to turn them on.

What starts it

When someone asks for it

It starts when someone on the team sends the Met a product photo on WhatsApp and asks it to remove or change the background. The Met does not edit photos on its own.

A manual task: someone on the team runs it with a button, or asks the Met for it in chat.

Who runs it

Internal Met that gets your catalog photos ready

Studio team

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is an internal Met with Picsart connected, for the owner or whoever builds the catalog: it is done when the photo has its new background, has been checked and is saved in the catalog folder.

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

    Check your credit balance

The Met checks your Picsart credit balance before editing. If it is not enough, it tells you to top up in Picsart instead of leaving the photo half done. Checking the balance spends no credits.

  2. 2

Upload the photo to your Picsart Drive

Picsart takes images as links, not as files. The Met uploads the photo to the catalog folder in your Picsart Drive, and Picsart returns a link ready to edit it.

  3. 3

    Remove the background

With that link, the Met removes the photo's background. This action spends credits from your Picsart account and starts switched off: if the admin did not turn it on, the Met tells you and edits nothing.

  4. 4

    Check the result

The Met looks at the image Picsart returned to check the product came out whole and without odd edges. If something went wrong, it tells you before you use it in your catalog.

  5. 5

Change the background, if you ask

If instead of an empty background you want another one, the Met changes it based on what you describe, like "a wooden table in morning light". It also spends credits and starts switched off.

FAQ

Questions about this automation

It depends on what Picsart charges on your account. The Met checks your balance before and after, and can quote a generation without running it so you know.

Yes. The Met uploads them to your Picsart Drive and removes the background one by one; each edit spends its own credits.

In your Picsart Drive. By default Picsart saves each result in a folder of its own for the connector, and the Met can leave them in your catalog folder.

You do, with your Picsart account's credits. Meteor does not resell Picsart and the admin decides which edits stay on.
