Ask on WhatsApp what your readers voted in your beehiiv newsletter poll
Ask on WhatsApp what your readers voted: an AI agent pulls the responses to your beehiiv poll and how the send that carried it performed.
How do I know what readers voted in my beehiiv newsletter poll without opening the dashboard?
You write to your Met "what did people vote in the last newsletter's poll?". The Met finds your publication in beehiiv, lists recent posts and polls, opens the right one and pulls its responses. It summarizes in the chat how many people chose each option and, if you ask, how the send that carried the poll performed: opens and clicks from the post stats. With that you choose the topic of the next issue. Everything is read only: in this procedure the Met does not edit or save any post.
What starts it
When someone asks for it
It starts when someone on the team asks the Met on WhatsApp about a poll or the last send. Each check is on demand; the Met does not watch the votes on its own.
A manual task: someone on the team runs it with a button, or asks the Met for it in chat.
Who runs it
Internal Met that reads your newsletter results
Social team
This is not a named, seeded Met. It is an internal Met with beehiiv connected, for whoever writes the newsletter or the agency that runs it: it is done when it summarizes the poll responses and the send's performance.

5 steps · 6 tools
The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Find the publication
The Met lists the publications the connected account can access and keeps the one you named. If you run a single newsletter, this step is immediate.
- 2
Find the send you mean
The Met lists the publication's recent posts to find the issue that carried the poll, by its title or the date you gave.
- 3
Find the poll
The Met lists the publication's polls and opens the right one, to read the question and the options exactly as your team wrote them.
- 4
Pull the responses
The Met pulls the poll responses and counts how many people chose each option. It replies with the summary, not with the full list of readers.
- 5
Report how the send performed
If you ask, the Met pulls the stats of the post that carried the poll, so you see how many opened and clicked next to how many voted.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
A poll published in your newsletter
Your team builds the poll in beehiiv and includes it in a send. Whatever is not a poll in beehiiv, the Met cannot count.
-
beehiiv connected in Met
In Met, open Connections → beehiiv → Connect and authorize with an account that sees the publication. This procedure only uses read actions.
-
An internal Met on WhatsApp
A team Met with beehiiv connected that you write to on WhatsApp. It is not the Met that answers your customers: it is for whoever runs the newsletter.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not create the poll or add it to the newsletter. Your team builds the poll in beehiiv; the Met only reads its responses.
-
It does not write or send the next issue. In this procedure the Met does not edit or save posts, and saving a post starts switched off because it can send it.
-
It does not alert you when a vote comes in. It answers when you ask; it does not watch the poll on its own.
-
It does not explain why people voted that way. It counts what your readers chose; you only know the reasons if the poll or a survey asks for them.
-
It does not see publications the connected account cannot access. Connect with the account that manages your newsletter.
FAQ
Questions about this automation
Yes. beehiiv separates polls and surveys, and the connector has tools to read the responses to both. This procedure uses the poll one; with a survey the steps are the same.
Not in this procedure. The Met summarizes the votes for your team; writing to a reader is a different procedure.
Yes, if it is still in the publication. Give the Met the title of the send or the date and it looks for it among your posts and polls.
The connector uses your beehiiv account and its permissions. If a beehiiv feature depends on your plan, the Met has the same limit you have in the dashboard.
