Get a WhatsApp summary every Monday of how your Wistia videos did

An AI agent reads your Wistia account stats every Monday and sends you on WhatsApp which videos grew, where people came from and what converted.

How do I get a weekly WhatsApp summary of my Wistia video stats?

Schedule a weekly task for a Met with Wistia connected. Every Monday, the Met gets the stats for the whole account for the week that ended and for the one before, lists your videos, requests detail only for the ones that lead the week and, for those, checks which sources the plays came from and how many conversions their forms produced. With that it sends you a short WhatsApp message: how the account moved, the videos that grew the most, where people came from and which video is bringing in leads. It only reads: it does not move, tag or edit anything in Wistia.

What starts it

At a set time

A task with a weekly recurring trigger, on Monday morning, so the summary arrives before the week is planned. Each run queries Wistia with the account that authorized the connection.

A task on a recurring (cron) or date and time trigger. It runs on its own, with nobody logged in.

Who runs it

Marketing Met that summarizes video stats every week

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is an internal Met with Wistia connected: its work ends when the summary reaches whoever decides which video to promote, not when the campaign changes.

5 steps · 6 tools

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

See how the whole account moved

The Met gets the account's current stats and the previous week's by date range, and puts them side by side. That way the summary opens with a comparison and not with a loose number.

  2. 2

List the videos and keep the top ones

The Met lists your media, going through every page of the response, and ranks the week by plays. It requests detail only for the ones at the top, so it does not run one query per video in the account.

  3. 3

Get the detail of each top video

For each top video, the Met gets its aggregate stats, which are the basis of that video's line in the summary. The rest keep only what came with the list.

  4. 4

    Check where people came from

The Met checks which sources the plays of those videos came from. If a video grew through a single source, the summary says so, because it changes what is worth promoting.

  5. 5

See which video brought in leads

If your videos have lead capture forms, the Met checks their conversions and tells you which one is bringing in leads. If none has a form, it says so instead of reporting a zero.

FAQ

Questions about this automation

Yes. The connector also gets a folder's totals, so the Met can build the summary for, say, only the product videos folder.

This recipe does not, but the same connector gets your webinars' registrations, attendance and engagement if you ask to add them to the summary.

No. Everything this recipe uses reads data; the actions that move, tag or edit can stay switched off in Connections.
