Ask on WhatsApp which sites AI search engines cite when they talk about your industry with Otterly.AI

Ask on WhatsApp which sites AI search engines cite in your industry: an AI agent reads it in Otterly.AI and tells you what to improve.

Which sites do AI search engines cite when they talk about my industry, and what do they recommend?

You write to your Met on WhatsApp something like "which sites do AI search engines cite when people ask about what we sell?". The Met first checks how many calls you have left in your Otterly.AI plan, finds your brand report, pulls its coverage and ranking stats against competitors, queries the period's most cited domains and URLs and lists the recommendations to improve your visibility. It replies with the sites that matter most and the recommendations in the report. It only reads: it does not change what the engines say or create prompts.

What starts it

When someone asks for it

It starts when someone on the team asks the Met which sites AI search engines cite. Each query runs on request and uses plan calls; this procedure does not leave a scheduled report.

A manual task: someone on the team runs it with a button, or asks the Met for it in chat.

Who runs it

AI visibility analytics Met with Otterly.AI

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is an internal Met with Otterly.AI connected: its work ends when it gives you the most cited sites and the report's recommendations, or when it tells you no calls are left in the period.

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

Check how many calls are left

The Met checks your Otterly.AI plan to see the period's usage and the MCP call limit. That check is free; if no calls are left, it tells you before trying the rest.

  2. 2

    Find the brand report

The Met lists your brand reports and picks your business's. If you have several, for example one per country or per product line, it asks which one to review.

  3. 3

Pull how your brand shows up

The Met asks for the report stats for the date range and country: your brand's coverage, ranking against competitors with sentiment and breakdown by AI engine.

  4. 4

    See which sites they cite

The Met pulls the citation stats for the same period: the most cited domains, each one's share of citations and the URLs that appear most in the answers.

  5. 5

    Reply with the recommendations

The Met lists the report's recommendations to improve your visibility and replies with the sites that matter most and what Otterly.AI suggests doing. It does not add its own.

FAQ

Questions about this automation

Yes. The Otterly.AI page has a tool that returns a URL's citations, the change against the previous period and the daily breakdown by engine.

Otterly.AI only documents that the plan check does not count against the limit and keeps working once the limit is reached. That is why the Met runs it first and, if no calls are left, tells you.

This procedure runs on request. A scheduled delivery would be a different automation, with its own trigger, and it would use calls on every delivery.

Yes, but not in this procedure. Creating a content or crawlability audit needs write permission on your Otterly.AI account and the admin leaving that action on in Connections.
