Calculate on WhatsApp how much it costs to hire someone in another country with Deel
An AI agent calculates with Deel how much it costs to hire in another country, the market salary and take-home pay, and sums it up on WhatsApp.
How much does it really cost me to hire a person in another country, with charges and fees?
A Met connected to Deel gets the question on WhatsApp: which role, which level and which budget. With that it suggests countries, brings the market salary for the role in each one and calculates with Deel the total employer of record (EOR) cost, with charges, benefits and fees. If you are thinking about opening a company there, it compares EOR against a local entity; and before the offer it estimates the take-home pay the person would get and sums up each country's labor rules. These are Deel estimates, not labor or tax advice.
What starts it
When the customer writes
It starts when someone on your team writes to the Met on WhatsApp to ask how much it costs to hire a role in another country. There is no trigger to configure: the Met assigned to that line answers the conversation, even though the person writing is on the team and not a customer.
Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.
Who runs it
Analyst Met that prepares numbers to decide
This is not a named, seeded Met. It is a Met on your team with Deel connected. The person writing to it is the manager or whoever hires, not a customer, and its work ends when that person has in the chat the compared cost of each option with Deel's numbers.

The procedure, step by step
Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.
- 1
Suggest where to hire
With the role, level, budget and region or time zone it was given, the Met asks Deel for the countries that fit best and presents them as a starting point.
- 2
Bring the market salary
For each country left on the list, the Met brings the salary distribution for the role and level, in the currency and the monthly or annual scale your team asks for.
- 3
Calculate the total EOR cost
With the chosen salary, the Met calculates the total EOR cost, with employer costs, benefits and fees. If there are several countries, it calculates them 5 per request.
- 4
Compare EOR against a local entity
If your company is thinking about opening an entity in that country, the Met asks Deel for the cost comparison between hiring through EOR and having your own entity.
- 5
Estimate take-home pay and sum up the rules
Before the offer, the Met estimates the take-home pay the person would get and sums up the differences in labor regulation, time off and payroll between the remaining countries.
Before you start
What you need ready
The Met solves none of these for you. If one is missing, the automation stops there.
-
Deel connected in Met
In Met, open Connections, then Deel, then Connect. A Deel window opens so you can sign in and authorize Met with your company's account.
-
A Met line just for your team
Assign this Met to a channel your team uses and not to the customer line, so hiring numbers are not discussed with the wrong people.
-
The role, level and budget
Whoever asks gives the Met the role, the seniority level and, if they have one, the budget; without those details Deel cannot calculate.
The limits
What this automation does NOT solve
Better said here than discovered halfway through the rollout.
-
It does not hire anyone or create contracts in Deel. The recipe only calculates and compares; your team does the hiring in Deel.
-
It does not replace labor or tax advice. Costs and take-home pay are estimates Deel calculates from the details it is given.
-
It does not read the people or contracts you already have in Deel, even though the connector keeps those lookups on, and it does not touch payments, which start switched off: this recipe only calculates.
-
It does not compare more than 5 countries in a single cost request; for more, the Met runs several requests.

Yes. Deel's calculations take the currency you want the result in, and the market salary accepts a monthly or annual scale.
It gives a baseline: it compares the cost of hiring through EOR with having a local entity, according to Deel. The decision and the legal advice are your team's.
Your company, under its Deel account. Meteor does not resell the service and Met does not charge Energy for these calls.
