Alert Slack about every order that comes in on WhatsApp

An AI agent takes the order on WhatsApp, posts it in your team's Slack channel and adds it to a canvas with the day's orders.

How do I connect WhatsApp to Slack so orders reach my team's channel?

When a customer finishes placing an order on WhatsApp, the Met finds the Slack channel where your team receives orders, posts the order there with what they ordered, the address and the phone number, and adds it to the day's orders canvas, which it creates if it does not exist yet. If the delivery is for later, it schedules a reminder in the same channel. When the customer asks about their order again, the Met reads the Slack thread to see what your team replied. The Met does not hear about what happens in Slack on its own: it reads the thread when the customer writes again. And it does not ask for confirmation in the chat before sending: the admin chooses in Connections which actions stay on.

What starts it

When the customer writes

It starts when a customer finishes placing an order on WhatsApp. There is no trigger to configure: the Met assigned to the line runs the procedure inside that conversation.

Nothing to set up. The Met assigned to that channel picks up the conversation and runs the procedure inside it.

Who runs it

Orders Met on the business's WhatsApp, connected to Slack

Customer service team

This is not a named, seeded Met. It is the Met that already takes orders on the business's WhatsApp, with Slack connected. Its work ends when the order is in the channel and in the day's canvas, and the customer knows the team has it.

5 steps · 7 tools

The procedure, step by step

Each step shows the tool that runs. They belong to the real connector: if one of them stopped existing, this page would not build.

  1. 1

    Find the orders channel

The Met searches by name for the Slack channel where your team receives orders, for example "orders", the one you set in the skill instructions.

  2. 2

Post the order in the channel

The Met sends a message to the channel with the full order: what the customer ordered, the address, the phone number and the payment method they mentioned. Your team sees it without opening WhatsApp.

  3. 3

Add it to the day's canvas

The Met reads the day's orders canvas and adds the new order. If it does not exist yet, it creates a formatted one, so the team has a single list to dispatch from.

  4. 4

    Schedule the delivery reminder

If the customer asked for delivery later, the Met schedules a message in the channel for that time, so the order does not sit waiting on the list.

  5. 5

    Read what the team replied

When the customer writes again to ask about their order, the Met reads the message's Slack thread and answers with what your team said, for example that it is on its way.

FAQ

Questions about this automation

No. Orders reach the Slack channel and the day's canvas; the team works from Slack and the customer stays on WhatsApp.

Not right away: the Met gets no notice when someone replies. When the customer asks again, the Met reads the thread and tells them what your team said.

Yes, if you write it in the Met's instructions: it looks up the channel by name, so each location can have its own.

You do, with your Slack plan. Meteor does not resell Slack: the connector uses your company's app and account.
