Publishing to WordPress with an agent: where human approval sits, and why

How an agent drafts and publishes to WordPress or Webflow: what it leaves as a draft, what a person reviews and what it should never write on its own.

Can an AI agent publish articles to my WordPress?

It can write the full draft, with its title, its structure and its links, and leave it ready on the site for somebody to review and publish. Publishing without review is possible and rarely a good idea: an article with a wrong fact on the company site gets indexed, quoted and shared before anybody notices. What the agent must not do is invent figures, testimonials or product features to pad out a text that came up short.

Writing is not the bottleneck of a company blog. The bottleneck is everything around it: remembering the structure that works, linking to the pages that already exist, not repeating what has already been published, and making it to the end in a week when something else got in the way.

An agent handles that part well and the other part badly, so it is worth knowing which is which.

What it does well: the full draft

Title, structure, internal links to pages that exist, the whole text. In the WordPress publishing recipe the draft lands on the site already assembled, not as a separate document somebody has to transfer by hand afterwards.

That “not transferring it by hand” is half the saving, and it is the half nobody counts.

Where approval sits, and why there

Before publishing. In the Webflow version the step is written into the flow, not offered as a recommendation.

The reason is not distrust: it is that the company site has no undo. An article gets indexed, shared and sometimes quoted within minutes. Reviewing costs a few minutes; correcting something that has already circulated sometimes cannot be done.

What it must never do

Invent. A figure with no source, a study that does not exist, a composite testimonial, a product feature that sounds right and is not there.

All four read perfectly well, and that is the problem: nobody spots them while reviewing unless they know to look. Which is why this is not a style rule but a declared limit of the agent.

Updating pays better than writing

An article that already has traffic and has gone stale is worth more corrected than a new one nobody knows. It is the least attractive content work and the one that shows fastest, and it is also repetitive, which is exactly where an agent helps.

Which permissions it asks for

The WordPress entry states what the agent can create and update on the site. Worth reading first: publishing and editing what already exists are not the same permission, and the second reaches further than it looks. The rest of the journey is in the content marketing solution.

Questions on this topic

Because an article published on the company site gets indexed and shared before anybody reads it. Reviewing takes minutes; correcting something that already circulated is not always possible.

It is, and it usually pays better. An article that already has traffic and has gone stale is worth more corrected than a new one nobody knows about yet.

They can be generated or uploaded, but they are worth looking at anyway. A wrong image in an article is the first thing that gets shared and the last thing anybody checks.
